Radisson at the Port - breakfast buffet questions!

I just booked the 2-king bed suite for the night before our cruise next year. (It's far in advance, but we wanted the suite again and I wanted to book one before they were all gone; they only had a few left at this point).

We stayed at the Radisson in a suite last year too and really enjoyed our stay there, but it didn't include the breakfast buffet, so we just walked next door to Zacharay's for breakfast. This year, the suite was cheaper WITH the "breakfast buffet for 2 people", than without it. It only includes the breakfast buffet for 2 people, and since we're a family of 4, we'll have to pay for 2 people to eat.

Does anyone know where the breakfast buffet is served? Is it set up in the lobby like the dinner buffet was set up last year, or is in the restaurant? Also, how much is the breakfast buffet, per person??

Thanks! :)

They had most of the food for the buffet set up by the bar next to the restaurant. They had two omelet stations one by the bar and one inside by the tables. Our kids were young so they ate for free. I do think they will charge you for older children. I am not sure how much they charge. They had belgian waffles that were really good. We too had a 2 king suite and really enjoyed it.

Well, I didn't notice that the breakfast was just for 2. :( How old were your kids when you went? Mine will be 5 & 7. They wont eat anything much so we never get them a buffet. DH will just have to run across the street to McDs for a platter of pancakes for them.

They gave us 4 tickets for the breakfast buffet. The buffet is nice but very crowded. You need to go early.

Come on guys!! NO ONE here knows how much the breakfast buffet is?? :earboy2: I probably should just call the Radisson myself. :scratchin LOL

I can't remember the cost. I do remember thinking "this is not a good value, we won't do this again." As I recall, it was mostly the crowds and capacity problems. My daughter loves bacon and it took several trips before we found the bacon warmer with bacon it in. When they'd bring out new bacon, it would disappear really fast. The Raddisson at the Port will be a much nicer hotel if they expand that restaurant they have to handle the crowds.

When we stayed there last summer we also go the 2 free buffets. My DH and myself went early and left the kids in the room. We had already bought them breakfast items for that morning and we did sneak out a few things from the buffet for them. :rolleyes1

I just looked on our invoive (I keep that kind of thing for a while) and it has no price listed. I would suggest trying the web site and see if it says there. I am wanting to think it was like $9-12 per person. But don't wuote me. I remember having a conversation with DH about how expensive it was for what was being offered.

I agree. I think is was in the $9-$12 range and also thought that was too much to spend on breakfast. Especially knowing that in a few hours you'll be on the ship for the buffet :teeth: Besides McD's, is there anywhere else nearby to get a quick bite that morning? Chic FilA?? Starbucks??

We always eat breakfast before we get on the ship. We head to grills, watch the magic come in and then eat breakfast. Makes for a great morning. Then we head back to radisson, load up the car and get ready to go to port. Makes the morning go quicker also.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

Sorry can't help with the price, but we really liked the buffet breakfast and we never had crowds. Maybe because we did it on Sunday mornings before sailing on the Wonder. Both times I think it was included in our room cost. One time we were one of 4 tables in the room and I think the next time maybe one of a dozen. This was in 2002 and 2003.

Ours was Sunday morning as well - we were told that Sunday is the worst day because that is the day the huge RCCL ship comes in and goes back out.

Thanks for the info, everyone :wave2:

$9 - $12 IS a lot for breakfast! Maybe I could send DH and DS17 to the buffet because they both like breakfast, because DS14 and I are not really big breakfast eaters, and I'd be happy with juice and a muffin for one morning. Especially the morning before going aboard the Magic! :)

Breakfast was very expensive at the Radisson - but BUffet Style always is!

We paid $60 for our family of 6 and the youngest DD was free! It was actually quite a scam IMO! I had wanted to order off the regular menu for the kids because the Buffet is a waste for them, but our server reassured us with the youngest being "free" we were better off getting the buffet - well he was wrong!

We ate the morning after our cruise at Zachary's and it was excellent!

We ate breakfast at the little "diner" type place next door to the Radisson. I'm afraid I don't remember the name. It isn't at all fancy, but the food was quite good. We actually ate dinner there the night before also and enjoyed it so much we went back for breakfast before heading to the port. Very friendly wait staff also.
