Hello!........Since finding these boards a few years ago I have to admit I have not paid rack rates@ the Dolphin or CBR. In the early 90's we paid rack rates @ CBR ,Port Orleans... but the rates were lower. We will be going April 26 - May5 this year and staying @ CSR 94.00$ (upgraded to a h2o view for 119.00$ including tax).......My personal feeling is that these are the prices these resorts should be going for.........we would have paid 180.00$ something had it not been for the discount codes and I have to say it would be difficult to pay rack rate again.........I truly feel bad for the people that do not know about the discounts or who cannot get them because of ill timeing..........Bob

P.S.Universal is giving Disney a healthy dose of competition and putting up a Tilt a whirl will not keep Disney on Top.......the Journey into Imagination Fiasco......20,000 leagues standing empty......no early entry......the closing of Carousel of Progress...the limited hours of Timekeeper.....the closing of The Living Seas ride!........Watch out Disney!............Have you rode Spiderman?.........just a thought .

I think it all comes down to time vs. $$$$. We paid rack rate at ASMo last May, before I knew about discounts. This year we got AKL savannah view for 233/night tax included. A friend of mine was willing to pay 5 grand for a package before I told her about this site and Mary Waring's and DC discounts. I put together a package for her at a mod, inlcuding tix and airfare for a LOT less than 5 thousand bucks. Although, mine didn't include food but I still can't figure out how anyone could eat that much.

As for US I have to disagree. US and WDW are two completely different types of parks. US caters to teens and twentysomethings while WDW is more family oriented. We toured both the week before Easter and I think WDW pulls everything off much better than US. Also if you stay onsite at US you can get everything done in 2 days. Other than MIB and Spiderman, both of which we rode 5X each, there really isn't anything I'd do again. Maybe when DS is older we'd do IofA again, then he can ride Dr.Doom, Dueling Dragons and The Hulk. All things considered I prefer WDW to US. I wasn't really impressed by PBH even though the rooms are HUGE, I liked AKL better. Also the service at WDW is far, far better than US and the food prices tended to be higher than WDW which are already high enough. SPIDERMAN however is the absolute best ride I or my family has ever been on.
I wouldn't say that the competition is that great they are two distinct parks with very different themes. It's all a matter of taste!

As for EE----it definitely needs to make a comeback, especially during Peak times like Spring Break!!:(

HEHEHE...

I agree that comparing both parks is like comparing apples and oranges. But when it comes to treating guests with dignity, USF is ahead. Disney keeps taking away more and more.

In fact, WE are one of those who this year will add a couple of USF onsite nights just for the perks.

I am sure that in just a matter of time, Disney's ongoing cuts will boost Universal's business

Attractions are closing and very few new ones being built. Does anyone else think that Disney is just focusing on their overseas parks? Go to disney.com and take a look at what's going on in the Tokyo Disney parks.:)

They probably feel secure enough about returning guests here. Heck, you can see how many people vow their devotion in spite of how they are treating guests!

And as long as some guests build up their confidence turning their heads away from the mistreatment, don't expect the situation to change any time soon.

Universal, however, is doing well beyond expectations...
