Hi- I am trying to use a rack rate vs dvc comparison tool I found on here. It’s says to:
“Use the drop-down selectors to choose a resort and room type. Then, enter a $/pt based on your calculated lifetime $/pt or DVC point rental prices ($18-$22/pt).”
We bought in at about $162/pt at VGF - but how do I figure out what $/pt number to put there so I can see if what a rack rate would have been.
Or is anyone knows of a site I can use to see what the rooms we have stayed in would have been at a rack rate I would appreciate it. I’d love to see the savings as well as to explain to others that ask me

The $/pt input is to determine your DVC cost, it won't affect the rack rates show. It's based on how much you paid and how many points were remaining over the life of your contract when you purchased. When did you buy?

I'm not aware of any rack rates going back in time. MouseSavers publishes them, so you could try contacting them to see if they have older rates saved somewhere.

Ok when I did that I saw a negative number.
We bought this past August. 200 at VGF.
Oh that’s fine if it’s just going forward !

A simple way to calculate your lifetime $/pt is: (total costs/total points). The formula below looks a bit complicated because you should account for the specifics of the contract you bought:

Your initial cost is $162/pt * 200pts ($32,400) plus any closing costs. The dues per point are $7.33 and the expiry year is 2064.
