Good luck to all!

I am running my first half marathon tomorrow morning. It was a last minute decision for me to sign up!

Good luck WISHers!! HAVE FUN out there!!

Well here is my brief race report.

I did my third 5k and the first one since last July and I set a PR. Took me 27 Minutes and 14 seconds. This course was much more challenging than my previous 5k's from a course perspective so I'm really excited (Lots of Hills.) Finished 15th out of 137 official Finishers (Lots of walkers including my wife - I'M SO PROUD OF HER)

Something else I found odd I was nervous today. I hadn't been at my last 3 events including the Marathon, but at a 5k I was nervous. I think it's because I knew alot of the folks there and other than my Wife and Daughters no one had seen me in an event.

I felt great though and am so happy we had a good turnout for this race.

Thanks
Chris

Congratulations to you, Chris. Good job on your time.

I ran my first half marathon today. I decided to sign up just a few days ago. I just felt ready to do a half now since I've been training for one for around 11 weeks now.

The event was called the Labor of Love 50K, Marathon, 1/2, & 10K in Lovell Canyon, NV. Which is just outside of Vegas. It was a very scenic run with mountains all around. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm but not hot. I have to say it was the hardest run I've ever done but definitely worth it. I finished in 2 hours 19 minutes, so about a 10:30 pace. I am so happy that I signed up and really look forward to the Disney 1/2 even more now. I will probably do the Las Vegas 1/2 in December now.

Here are a few photos my husband snapped off. Thanks for reading. :goodvibes

Awesome Casey! I love that medal.

Great job to you Chris as well!

I can't wait to hear from everyone else.

I ran my first 1/2 marathon this weekend; the Country Music in Nashville, TN. The weather at the start was BAD....rain and a cool wind but the rain stopped about 5 minutes before the actual start and the rest of the race, the weather was great. I loved all of the stuff along the course. The crowd support was incredible and, since it is part of the Rock-n-Roll marathon series, there were plenty of bands along the way and since it was Nashville (the music city and all), they were all good (the one at the Belmont Church was the best IMHO). They said that the course was flat....their definition of flat and mine are two different things but I'm from Montgomery, AL and pretty much the entire town is flat so hills are fairly unique. The toughest part of the course was at about mile 11.5 where there is a fairly steep, 1/4 to 1/2 mile hill. I don't think Everest could have looked any more difficult at that point. There were some amazing views, especially of the Tennessee state capital building...stunning. I had a great time and am very sore (does a full marathon hurt twice as bad as a half ?!?) but this was my second ever race and first ever 1/2 and I'm looking forward to the next one already. Somebody called me insane at church this morning and I quoted a t-shirt that I ran behind for about 2 miles "Why do people call me insane for doing the one thing that keeps me from going mental?" They didn't get it but I know ya'll will. My strongest recommendations for the Country Music Marathon and 1/2 Marathon. Great event to run with 40,000 or so of your closest friends. By the way, I love the "Wave" start system...I felt a little bit "Kenyan" by getting to "toe the starting line" :cool1:

Fantastic job Ed (Nashville I'm jealous).

Casey great time! What a beautiful place to run.

Congrats on the PB Chris.
