You are so completely out of my league. Wow! You are amazing! (BTW, it took me 3 full days to recover and even start to think about doing another full in a year after my first full. To think you feel ready fro the Goofy already really is amazing)

I usually have at least two races planned at any given point... I find having something to look and work towards in the future keeps me motivated. I'm really not doing anything amazing though, I can't claim to be a fast runner or anything like that. I just enjoy it... I find most other races, with exception of the half, are too short, and don't give me enough time to just enjoy the experience.
That you finished a full, went through a longer and more difficult recovery, and made the decision to do another... that's what is amazing.
lol. No, I just couldn't let my dh get another Mickey (or if I did the half he said he'd go Goofy) when I got a Donald. OK, maybe my foolish pride is amazing. That's what's great about WISH, though, we can all eb on totally different levels and respect each others efforts.
Jeanne: Just finished reading your RR! I so want one of those shirts, because I think it would be an honor to be part of team Jeanne! (And like to think I am, in a non-related-to-you kind of way!)
Jeanne, thanks so much for posting your report. It is really enjoyable to hear about your experience in such detail. Loved how you got on the Jumbotron in Times Square! As a former New Yorker myself, the NYC Marathon is my dream. I volunteered at the family reunion area 20 years ago and thought, this is really neat, Id like to do this someday! 20 years later, and someday hasnt come yet. I am a walker too, so you are an inspiration to me! Did you get in through the lottery, and if so, the first time you tried?
Thanks again for the detailed report. You go girl!
Glad you enjoyed the report. It was my second attempt at the lottery. I never expected to get in this year. We even had to rebook a cruise we had scheduled.....turned out to be a great way to taper!
If you are a native NY'er you will just love it......keep trying and good luck!
And yes, I walked every step. (I had trained to be able to run just in case I had to, but never resorted to actually using it.)
Finally got a chance to read your report, Jeanne! What an awesome family you have -- and what a great support team they made. I laughed, I cried -- Lovely!
timmac, loved your report too. I know that "wow" feeling. Congratulations.
(Now I gotta go back and finish reading the rest of this thread!)
