Hi well done! (Watch out...its addictive...bet you are thinking of 'what next' already!)
I'm running one in two weeks (if my injury is better).
I see the quote above...
it's so sad that on the form it says that only 54% of women actually sent their sponsorship money back last year.
Its probably not as bad as its sounds. I hae run now for three years. The first I raised money and sent it off. Then I started running regularly and long distance so when I ran it the next year I took my Mum with me. She raised £150 but I raised nothing as she would not have done it without me. This year I have a group from club, three ladies, running. I am pacing them to sub-30 personal bests. They are all raising money (£205 at the last count), but I am not.
I am sorry that the organisation advertises it as if ladies are' forgetting' to send off money as there are a lot of people in my position. A lot of running clubs send new members along and join them as many are reluctant to do it on their own. Certainly if I had not run with Mum she wouldn't have done it. The ladies I am running with this year could have done alocal 5k for an entry fee of £3 but I encouaged them to do RFL as it as such a wonderful cause and atmosphere.
