We will celebrate finishing it with a bottle of wine watching the football on sunday evening:hyper:

I am doing mine with some work friends on the 18th July, I am busy trying to get sponsers at the moment, it's so sad that on the form it says that only 54% of women actually sent their sponsorship money back last year.

I know i think that is terrible. I have been trying to get sponsers too.:Pinkbounc

I have over £70 so i'm quite pleased with that.

I also got one of the race for life t-shirts so i am going to wear that:Pinkbounc

I did the run today:Pinkbounc

It was supposed to be 5ks but about 100 of us ended up doing an extra mile as we went the wrong way and had to turn around again:( But MiL did it in 39 minutes and i did it in 41 mins. I had to walk as i got really big blister on my heal:rolleyes:

It was a great day and there was loads of people. It was brilliant weather too, if not too hot:Pinkbounc

All i have to do is now collect my sponsers

Hi well done! (Watch out...its addictive...bet you are thinking of 'what next' already!)

I'm running one in two weeks (if my injury is better).

I see the quote above...

it's so sad that on the form it says that only 54% of women actually sent their sponsorship money back last year.

Its probably not as bad as its sounds. I hae run now for three years. The first I raised money and sent it off. Then I started running regularly and long distance so when I ran it the next year I took my Mum with me. She raised £150 but I raised nothing as she would not have done it without me. This year I have a group from club, three ladies, running. I am pacing them to sub-30 personal bests. They are all raising money (£205 at the last count), but I am not.

I am sorry that the organisation advertises it as if ladies are' forgetting' to send off money as there are a lot of people in my position. A lot of running clubs send new members along and join them as many are reluctant to do it on their own. Certainly if I had not run with Mum she wouldn't have done it. The ladies I am running with this year could have done alocal 5k for an entry fee of £3 but I encouaged them to do RFL as it as such a wonderful cause and atmosphere.
