We are doing the EEC and the 8PM start time is really wrecking my deluxe dining plans. We are going without the kids and want to enjoy some kid-free sit down dining. But how do I plan out the day of the race without eating too much and wanting to puke?

Great visual, thanks! :scared1:

I would judge it by how you felt/feel after your longest training run/walk/wog. Personally, I will just plan on eating slightly less than normal. I would be more concerned about not overdoing it the day before.

Of course, I have no personal experience with this, having never done a race at all, so that is just what I plan on doing. I'm sure the more experienced racers can tell you what works for them.

Sorry about that!

What's got me stumped is that the race is at night. I've done a few 5Ks but they have always been first thing in the morning. Trying to plan what to do all day before the race is stressing me, just a litttle.

Oops sorry, I misunderstood the question. I've got the Princess on the brain! I can't help you with that particular problem, but that's an excellent question. I hope someone here can offer you some guidance.

Do you have any evening taining? Those nigh traces are tought (2 ToTs have me thinking night races are not my thing). The most important thing to look at is dinner. I would not have fdinner less than 4 hours before the race. Plan race-firendly snacks if needed (powerbars, shot blocks, etc), but no heave food. Maybe lunch at 11 adn make it your big meal, or a big brunch. Then, your "dinner", try to stick to a more lunch-like portion. Maybe just a ocunter service fro that one to keep from over-indulging.

Myself, I would plan a late lunch/dinner (3pm-4pm), by 8pm that's pretty much through your system. Anyway that's my plan for the new Food and Wine half.
Have fun!

Thanks for the tips! I thought it was kind of a silly question but you guys made me feel like it wasn't. We have the Princess breakfast at EPCOT (since I have all boys and will probably never do one with the kids) at 10:30. So maybe we'll get some counter service around 3 or 4. I used to run at night after the kids went to bed. I think most of those runs I spend complaining to my running partner about what I ate for dinner and that it wasn't a good idea. :rotfl:
So maybe I can take some lessons from that.

NOt a silly question. Nutrition is a huge part of racing. Do try to get some night workouts in to see how your system handles things, but it sounds like you have a good plan!
