Hi all,

I'm travelling with friends and their children in Oct and they are staying at the Poly while I'm at AKV. They made the flight ressies for all of us, so my ticket is under their reservation.

I know from the boards we can all ride ME back to MCO as I can get the concierge to switch it for me. But what do I do with my luggage? I will probably have a car (rented onsite), so do I just drop the luggage off by them before they check theirs in?

Also guessing they'll get my boarding pass when they check everyone else in?

Thanks in adavnce, this will be my first time dealing with ME and RAC. I'm also a completely disaterous/frightened flyer so I'm just trying to wrap my head around what needs to happen for the day we fly back.

You can only use RAC at the resort you are staying at....you must be on a reservation for that resort in order to do that. So, unless you are listed on your friend's Polynesian reservation, you won't be able to get your bags checked there. Neither will you be able to board the bus there. You must check your bags at AKV as well as get the DME bus there. Now, if your friend's get you on their room reservation at the Polynesian, well, that's a horse of a different color.

But, in short, you must take the bus, and check your bags, at the resort you are staying at.

If I am reading your post correctly your flight reservation is linked to your friends but not your WDW room reservation. If so:

DME is linked to your resort reservation not your flight informaiton, in fact you don't even need to fly to MCO to use DME.

So you should make sure that you have a DME reservation linked to your room reservation for yourself and anyone staying with you, your friend should do the same.

You will each receive a separate DME booklet a few weeks prior to the trip with your luggage tag and DME vouchers. Your bags will be tagged to go to your resort and you will ride the DME bus to your resort. Same for your friends.

For the return trip your DME ride will be from the AKL, I am pretty sure you can only use DME from the resort your reservation is at. I would just make arrangements to meet at the airport prior to checking in.

I'm curious about where you read that. I have never heard of anyone being able to take ME from a resort that they are not staying at.

Thanks tjmw2727 and goofy4tink. You are reading it right. My flight is linked to theirs, but not hotel. Worried about getting my boarding pass and such if we are on separate buses arriving at separate times.

I guess I could drop off my luggage (one piece) with them early in the am, grab my boarding pass and then head back to my hotel and meet them at the airport...does that sound like it might work? That way I'm not doing the RAC, just riding ME.

Any idea how RAC works with people all on one flight ressie, but at different hotels? I just don't want to screw them up, or be caught in a huge line at MCO to get my boarding pass.

I'm starting to think I dreamed it, but will keep searching to see if I can find the thread.

What airline are you flying? You might be able to get your boarding pass printed from the front desk of your hotel. Or, have someone in the rest of your party get your boarding pass and you can meet before you go through security.

This shouldn't be an issue. Just go to the RAC counter the morning of your departure. They can bring up your flight number and itinerary. Then, they will check you in, tag your bags and give you your boarding pass. It shouldn't matter at all who made the flight reservations.
RAC, and DME, are tied to your resort. You will not be able to ride the DME bus with them unless you are listed on their resort reservation. You will all have the same flight departure time, so will be picked up at the appropriate time at your own resorts, on your own bus. You can plan to just meet up at the DME drop off area at MCO.

One thing...you have to be present to check your bag and show id for the boarding pass. You should be able to do it from the resort you are staying at.
