R.I.P. Frank McCourt (Author of Angela's Ashes)

Author Frank McCourt, whose tragic childhood became creative grist for his first book, the Pulitzer Prize-winning "Angela's Ashes," died Sunday, according to the Web site of his publisher, Simon & Shuster. He was 78.

Wow, this is so strange. I loved the book (it's the only one I've read so far). DS 11 and I watched the movie Saturday night and he loved it and now wants to read the book. He asked me if he was still alive. Strange coincidence!

One of my favorite writers, will miss him.

Angela's Ashes was one of my favorites, mixing humor and tragedy in the same book. Tis' was memorable for its funny moments that did come poignant at times. RIP Frank McCourt
