Just looking for an informed opinion on this deal being offered on QVC today - sorry I don't know how to post a link.

The T3i 2 lens bundle with the 70-300 for $599

The 70-300 in those kits is not well regarded, most prefer the 55-250

The 8gb card is too small for being an only card, but nice to have as a backup.

It's OK, but bit depends on how much that extra lens and software is really worth it to you. The T3i is a really nice starter camera.

FWIW, Canon recently had a T3i refurb w/1 lens for $349:

I hadn't thought of the refurbished option - but I've bought other items refurbished and been satisfied.

The QVC deal is good but not outstanding. The Canon 75-300 is probably the worst lens Canon makes though.

like others indicated that's not a good "deal" (75-300 lens and price)
Refurbished models on Canon and Adorama' site offer better discounts and includes a one year warranty
