QVC -real diamonds?

Just curious as to why anyone in the office didn't tell Miss BigMouth that she was rude? Sorry, but I hate when people are mean like that and I would have told her that she is a rude, nasty, mean spirited woman who obviously is trying to make up for her own shortcomings. Oh- and I hope she feels real good about trying to make somebody feel badly.
I would have no patience for that stuff.

I didn't want a big showy ring, so we bought mine off of Ebay!!!!! My DH loves to tell everyone where it was bought and what we paid for it. ($69.00). We had it appraised when we had it sized, and it is real. It appraised for almost $900.00. I love the fact that we shopped smart!

i bought a 2 carat diamond ring (w/the popular invisible setting that looks like one big emerald shaped diamond in center) on Ebay. I had seen the ring at JCPenneys reg. price around 3,000, but they sell it a christmas for around 1800 or so...I paid $450 for it, same exact ring, the seller had purchased hers at Penneys. i bought a black and white diamond ring from Zales(sale price 999.00) on ebay for 150. I love this because I can go to the store and check and see if I like it before I buy it on ebay.Of course ,you have to be careful, but you can get great deals!

You guys just talked me into buying a Diamonique! I've gained weight, and my original wedding rings no longer fit. Because I'm vain, and am convinced this weight will fall off (yeah right), and did I mention delusional, I refuse to get them resized!:lmao:

So I just bought an Asscher 3 stone "forever" white gold ring. It's on some type of waitlist, but that's okay. I hope it'll come through.

And shame on that nasty co-worker! Hasn't anyone ever told her she doesn't have to say every single thought that pops into her head? Sheesh!

I love that ring! I almost asked DH for that last Christmas! You have to let me know how you like it :thumbsup2

Also it is mostly a US custom to buy diamonds. Most Europeans wear colored stones. I used to work with alot of Europeans who had colored stones and in their countries Diamonds do not cost more then colored. Also, Emeralds, cost more than diamonds! Congrats to her, the other womens karma will come back to her!:lovestruc

Here is my problem with this situation - 1) that lady should have never said anything to her - how incredibly rude and just plaing mean it is her special day and time not this ladies 2) I dont know the situation but if it isnt real who cares maybe he couldnt afford a high dollar ring 3) does it really matter if the ring is "real" it is a symbol of there love not a symbol of how much money it cost.

I have seen the mickey items. I dont live to far from the QVC headquaters here in Pa.
BTW This women is always just plain miserable, and a damper to the rest of us co workers.

I've been married for 7 years and I don't have a real diamond. I don't see the point in them they arent that rare and only have the value they do cause companies control the supply and for some reason women demand them. I like colored stones myself much cheaper and nicer in my opinion. oh yea and anyone who tells someone their ring is fake is a mean hearted sob in my book. When a man asked a women to marry him its the question and fact he wants to spen the rest of his life with that person that holds meaning not the ring.

exactly, thank you so much for bring that up. I remember watching an investigative report on A &E and diamonds aren't worth anything. That 2 carrot ring that they sell you for $10,000 is really only worth about $200.00. they have more diamonds than they know what to do with. I actually decided after watching that show, that I would never buy another diamond out of principle. They are a rip off. and just trying to get money out of people.

I don't live far from there either!

Wow, what a rude co-worker. I'm guessing jealous. Real or not, it is the meaning behind the gift. Th fact that he loved her and wanted t share his life and joy with her. That seems reason enugh to be jealous (especially if you are a bitter lady like the co-worker appears to be.)

We were at dinner the other night with friends who had gotten engaged. I saw her ring and commented on it, it was very pretty. My dh said someday he would replace my "little" diamond with a bigger one when we could afford to. I told him no way, first of all, I like my ring, it is simple and pretty, but more than that, I love the memory of him giving it to me. I don't eve want that messed with. Also, I'd much rather go on a great vacation then have a bigger diamond.

Sure, I like pretty things, but don't like to be excessive. If it makes her happy had didn't have to break the bank, even better. IMO

Oh, and I have the Mickey neclace from QVC (below). When I got it everyone was asking if it was real. My grandmother told me to tell them, of course it is real (it isn't imaginary!!!):lmao: I love my grandma!

HA! I also have that Mickey necklace and it's fabulous.

And now I may have to get myself a Diamonique Right Hand Ring... everything I've gotten from them has been quality.

A young girl at work, came into work this week telling us all her boyfirend ask her to marry him on V-day. We were all happy for her on Monday.Today she told us that he bought the ring from QVC. We all sort of looked at each other. Of course one of the women said oh honey it is not real then. I had to to say it could be and she would not let it go. So does anyone know if QVC sells real diamond rings? This poor girl, I dont know why the guy told her where he bought it.

I've bought their "Affinity Diamond" jewelry which are real Diamonds. They also have their "simulated diamond", called Diamonique. :upsidedow

I'm married to a jeweler, and, in my opinion, any comment on an engagement ring (or any other piece of jewelery) other than the likes of "how pretty" or "congratulations" is tacky, Tacky, TACKY!!!
Best Wishes to your co-worker!!! "If you don't have anything nice to say . . ."

Exactly!!

Is your co-worker happy? That's all that matters!

Then good for her!! She knows what her ring is and the meaning behind it and that's all that matters!

My DFi proposed with an aquamarine and my friends think I'm nuts for wanting that instead of a diamond. I'm ecstatic with it, and he bought it outright, no financing and no CC debt!

Who cares if it's real? If she loves him it shouldn't even matter. I never understood someone shelling out thousands right before a wedding for an engagement ring. If you're going to spend that kind of money I'd rather have an engagement down payment on a house, or an engagement washer/dryer... something more practical. I've always been a big believer in getting deals and the thought behind a gift, not the price tag!
