This is what is in the box:
# Nintendo Wii gaming console
# Component cable for connection to HDTV
# Nunchuk
# Remote
# Racing wheel
# Game blaster
# Wii baseball bat
# Wii tennis racket
# Wii golf club
# AC adapter
# Wrist strap
# Wireless infrared sensor
# Messenger bag
# 2 AA batteries for remote
That is NOT worth $299, sorry.
Base Wii with sports game and one controller is $199. So for the other $100 they want you to spend you get:
# Racing wheel
# Game blaster
# Wii baseball bat
# Wii tennis racket
# Wii golf club
# Wireless infrared sensor
# Messenger bag
# 2 AA batteries for remote
The items in
bold are useless junk. In fact, one of the HSN guys actually broke their TV on air using one of those attachments because it flew off when he swung the Wiimote and crashed into the TV, cracking the screen badly.
Here's the video on Youtube. Jump to the 5 minute mark and watch. Yeah...
Besides, you can buy those sports accessories kits from any store for $20 at most.
The wireless sensor is not necessary, necessarily, as the regular system comes with the wired version (and no batteries to replace).
Carrying bag? Not expensive and not necessary unless you plan to carry it around from house to house a lot. (We've never moved ours except when we moved houses, but then we don't have kids, either.)
Two AA batteries that will probably last for an hour (el cheapos, I'm sure).
The 101-in1 Party Megamix game can be had from
Amazon for $19.99, but is brand new (set to release to general public on Oct 27th so there are no reviews). Based on experience with other Wii party games it could either be fun or truly horrible. The Wii Sports game is included in all Wii's.
Sorry, this is not a bargain. It is closer to a ripoff. At
best you break even and are stuck with useless items that will likely very quickly find their way into a box forever or the garbage (if they don't destroy your TV first).
ETA: You'll still need to buy at least one more controller and nunchuck if you want more than one person to play.
