Ok...I just requested a quote for a 4day land 3 day sea package for 4 people...and it was soo much cheaper than I anticipated...so I'm thinking...when you look into booking that land sea package...does the land part include hotel and passes?? or are you really just paying for the ship? This would be my first cruize with the kids...and it'd only be about 1000 more than I planned on for 7 days at WDW alone!

If it is truly a land sea package, then yes it includes hotel and passes. Where did you get the quote from? Most people find that booking the cruise and parks seperate you can actually get more savings. Let us know the details and maybe we can help you find more savings.

Remember that the land/sea DOESN'T include food at WDW so you're expenses will be more than the quote.

It also does not include transportation from Airport to WDW/WDW to port or port to Airport UNLESS you purchase them through Disney direct otherwise you will have to find another form of transport. Usually with 4 people you are cheaper in getting a towncar/limo than using Disney transport plus you get the added benefits of a comp grocery stop and you can leave when you want to leave and get to the port when you want to get there.

The park hopper passes are like length of stay passes so if you are flying in on say Saturday and you don't get in until 5 pm that is one day against your # of days in the parks. It does include your hotel and your park passes but not food.

I would price it out seperately as well just to see how it compares. I also would get quotes from DCL direct, Dreams Unilimited and a few others to make sure the price is good!

I got the quote right on Disney's website...it was $3100 for 4 day land, 3 day sea.
We would drive to Orlando (8 hr trip) then just drive over to port...so I'm not worried about the transportation.. but wanted to know what was all included. Since I was requesting for February..I'm assuming that's why the price is lower than when i checked last yr only a couple months in advance..it was about $6grand then!
So..if I arrive Monday night...that is 1 day of my park time?? Guess I'll leave Sunday night and get there Monday AM :)
I'm not sure I'll get to book this..it's $800 down by Aug 30th...but I was just checking into it... either way..I"m goin to WDW in February...I would just love to add the cruise for the kids to experience as well :)
Thanks for all the quick replies!

it is definateley cheaper to book seperately for a couple of reasons...

1. you can pick your hotel that you want to stay. i don't mind staying at the all-star resort in wdw, because we spend little time in the room and by the time we get back to our room i am going to get changed and go straight to bed.
2. you can book the dream maker plan to have your food included. i like to do this so that when i step foot into florida besides tips (on the cruise only) i won't have to pay for anything except suveniors tips are included in the dreammaker plan at wdw.
3. you can arrive early or even the night before and have your tickets good for the whole day. (you can also do this when you book land/sea together
4. if you get the dreammaker package you buy tickets for the # of nights you are staying at the resort and on the day you check out the tickets are still good including the dreammaker points. It is like having a day at the parks for free. (hope this makes sense)

this is what we are doing

dec. 4 flying in and staying at the quality inn (mco) $45.95/night breakfast included and free shuttle from airport
dec. 5 happy limo will pick us up and take us to ship
dec. 9 happy limo will drop us off at wdw
dec. 13 happy limo will drop us off at the airport. the 10passenger vans total cost for six of us with happy limo was $350.00
4 night cruise was $1332 and 4 night 5 days dreammaker plan at wdw was $1742 which includes hotel for four of us
