I always try to keep my DH up to date with our travel plans, and I normally run places past him before I book anything. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) he prefers I do all the decision making and he really only becomes interested once we arrive at our destination.

So, I decided to quiz him just before to see how much of my ramblings he actually takes in. Thought I'd share the conversation....

Me: Once we arrive in Orlando where is the first place we'll be staying?
DH: Universal Studios (proudly)
Me: Yes, but what hotel?
DH: Oh, I don't know. I think it has a pool. Universal Wonderland?
Me: Close enough. And where are we going after our universal stay?
DH: On a Disney cruise.
Me: What is the name of the ship?
DH: It's that new one that's the same as another one, but different.
Me: Sigh
DH: No, I remember. It goes to the Sand Cay.
Me: The Sand Cay like the one we visit in Fiji?
DH: Oh I don't know. It's something Cay. John Key?

Too funny!!

Mine asked me on the plane trip over how long we were staying, and when we were coming home. It is like talking to a brick wall, then he sees all these things he wants to do and wants to know why we are not doing them. I can only ask so many times.

Ah, that reminds me of our first cruise when hubby decided he didn't need to listen to me telling him what he needed to pack. So he spent the entire cruise wearing the same pair of black jeans and shirt to dinner every night because I 'didn't tell him' he couldn't wear shorts to dinner!

I operate on a need to know basis. He lost input privileges many trips ago. He is always happy and if he asks why we were not doing something I say that I had to draw the line somewhere and then say we wouldn't have been able to (insert his trip highlight here). We can always come back!

I get so excited, I can't help myself. After doing such a good job last time, my wife has given me complete organisational authority, but I still need to "share" with her. I have therefore imposed a maximum 5 minute discussion per day policy.

She just smiles and nods politely :coffee:

DH is quite happy for me to do all the organising and I'm quite happy to do all the organising.

However every now and then I'll ask for input, but he'll have no opinion. So I'll make a decision get excited about this new plan and move onto the next matter. A month later DH will decide he does have an opinion and try and change my plans :rolleyes2 I usually tell him it's too late, and he should have helped when I asked him too. :lmao:
