ok i wondering how many of you know this so time for a pop quiz (NO LOOKING!)

what are the five basic freedoms covered in the first amendment?

Freedom of Speech
Freedom of Press
Freedom of Religion
Freedom to Assemble
Freedom to Petition

and no, I didn't look that up.

I would NEVER.
Know that.

In 8th grade, I had to be able to name all of the 13 original colonies, their founder, the year they were founded, the bill of rights, and about half the constitution. yay american history.

Edit:
I was the only one to pass the colonies test with an A in my class, too.

Discovered by John (james?) Tyndall. Its when you shine a light through a substance and determine if it is a mixture/solution/suspension.

American history may be confusing.
but at least it's SEMI INTERESTING.
All we've got is the Confederation and French & English people arguing with the Natives and having babies (known as les Métis) and then some big hullabaloo. I don't understand more than half of it, and it's all kind of samey.

I know nothing about canada. I won't lie about that. But American history is just a series of wars and presidents. Its easy to memorize though.

i dont even have too study it its so easy we get lots of fun hw like i have too make business cards for george Washington

next what are the alien and sedition acts and how did they end?

Mm I suppose.
We don't learn about PM's.
And there weren't that many wars really.

In SS it's use learning about population and culutre in our little corner of the country. It's horribly boring. The other day we did the birth of Fredricton, and it's worse in french.

next what are the alien and sedition acts and how did they end?

Alien and Sedition acts were to make it harder for illegal persons to become legal. They were ended after an election, because the president in power at time (rep) knew all of the illegals would be the opposing party (dem) so he wanted to prevent them from having the right to vote.

Caty, you're reminding me how long its been since I've been in an american history class.;)

I have one for you catycatcat4 (well anyone but she hasn't answered any yet) --

Virginia was settled first. Roanoke failed, Jamestown thrived.

Delaware ratified the Constitution first.
