Quixtar?

This was my 2nd meeting and i have researched them and We made our decision based on how We feel about the business.I am sorry that some of you are unhappy with yor choice. We will be trying this and if we feel bad about our decision then we will leave the business. If it is such a bad business do you think disneystore.com would be a partner store for them?

This has been some interesting reading.

Though I myself wouldn't attempt such a scheme, it seems as though you have made up your mind so the best of luck to you...I AM a little curious about this statement:

If it is such a bad business do you think disneystore.com would be a partner store for them?

As others have mentioned...there will be a few winners in such a venture, it's just not certain that one of them will be you.

Again, good luck and please be careful.

It won't be long until they are telling you that you HAVE to get the tapes and books to really become a good salesperson, and that's where they make their money.
Bingo! That's called being "Core." That's only buying products from Quxitar (yourself) and get plugged into "The System" (tapes, function, etc.)

Here's a page that contains personal experiences from people that were once in Amway/Quixtar and walked away... several were high level distributors. http://www.amquix.50megs.com/amway_2.html

Amway knew there were problems with king pin diamonds in the 1990's. Lawsuits were starting to pop up over things like "System" profits. What was Amway's response? Starting around 1995 they made every distributor sign a binding arbitration agreement when you renewed your "business". You waive your right to sue, and if you have any business complaints you cannot talk publically about them, and agree to go through an arbitor of Amway's choosing (not an independent third party).

Another personal story if it helps.........

My daugher and her young husband were in *A*.
*A* proudly announced/proclaimed them as their youngest what-do-you-call-them? salesmen? LOL

At one point, my daughters young hubby had to make a choice between food for his family (they WERE only teens and didn't handle money well, who does at 18?.....)

anyway......at one point he had to make this choice between food or his twice a week meeting and tape.

He talked to his *A* guide to share his dilemma with him, and guess what this man talked him into doing?

Yep.

They went to the foodshelf for many weeks because every cent they had and more went to his tape purchases and his coffee meetings. *A* even talked them into going to a big meet for their honeymoon....and this young couple with a baby to raise went and ended up spending all their wedding gift money on boxes and boxes of useless information and books.

The guide also talked this young couple into selling their one decent running car so they could buy a junker and have the excess money from the sale of the car to put into "The Business".
What a crock!

I agree with Geoff wholeheartedly.......RUN from this scheme.
There are legitimate ways to make money and I don't believe this is one of them.

Now from what I gather, you're being told that Disney.com is a "partner" store for them?

Gosh, it's hard to explain this part, but.............I used to own a store. I sold the very first Beanie babies in my store, so in essence I COULD have called the TY company a "partner" store.......

but the reality was that I only bought their product to RE-sell in my store. Nothing more, nothing less.......no partnership, so to speak.

Gosh, sounds like things at *A* aka *Q* hasn't changed much in the 7 years since DD got out of it.

Now if you're dead set about doing this, of course I wish you well...

but please do a bit more research before getting in too deep.

Disneystore isn't a partner with them. Write Disney and ask them. Just because Disney is a store that you CAN buy things from doesn't mean they are partners. This is were the confusion comes from. No where does it say that Disney is a partner, if it does, they are lying.

I honestly hope you learn quickly that this is a mistake, because it is.

I HIGHLY suggest you do a little more research. I understand that you want a good, happy life, but Amway/Quixtar isn't the way to a better life for anybody other than the top few.

It's basically a cult, a cult of people there to take your money. Read about it on the net, I wouldn't be so quick to trust somebody who just wanted my money if I were you.

I have no reason to tell you these things other than wanting to save you a BIG headache. They do have reason to tell you otherwise.

They actually encourage Mothers to leave their newborn babies to go to meeting because it looks bad if 1 spouse is there and the other isn't.

Often 1 spouse ends up wanting to quit the business and the other doesn't. The one who doesn't is actually encouraged to divorce the one who does, did you know that?

Think before you leap.

Why would anybody want you to pay them to start working for them? They say you're working for yourself, but trust me, every meeting you go to is giving somebody a nice pocket full of change.

Speaking of that, do you have any idea how much those people are paid to speak, UNREAL!!

That's where all the really big money is, wait until they sucker you into going to a meeting that will cost you $500. You'll hear the same things and they'll parade all the Diamonds out for you to look at, like they're zoo animals, sickening, and people eat that crap up.

What are you curious about?

If it is such a bad business do you think disneystore.com would be a partner store for them?
Two reason's....

1) There's no downside for Disney to be envolved. There's no investment on their part.

2) The real stink isn't with Quixstar or Amway per se. The rotten apples are what's known as the QMO's (Quixtar Motivational Organizations). These consist of the tools king pins and their side company's. This is were the tools skim is happening. I doubt that Disney has even heard of such companies as World Wide Dream Builders, ProNet, Internet Services, etc... or now what they do.

On the topic of partner stores, it was funny to listen to all the stores that were promised to prospects from IBOs leading up to the launch of Quixtar. Everyone was saying it would be a "who's who" of the retail world. Land's End, you name it, they were gonna bust down Amway's door to get on board. It was more hype to sucker people into joining.

Amway used to love to compare themselves to Wal-mart. They were the target. Then I first checked, Wal-mart was 20 times the size of Amway (by sales)... when I last looked it was 30.

She's curious about this

If it is such a bad business do you think disneystore.com would be a partner store for them?

They are not partners, I could just as easily sell you something from the Disney store. Here's how it works. You want something from Disney. A/Q gets it from Disney for you, you pay a shipping charge to Disney and A/Q. See how that works? You got what you wanted, but paid twice for shipping because you clicked a link on A/Q.

You have your reasons for not liking Quixtar and that is your choice and you dont see me trying to change your mind,so all the websites you are putting up,I have already read and it has not changed my mind.

You couldn't possibly have read them if you haven't changed you mind. I'm done, you have to learn your own lessons. Don't let them tell you that books and tapes are more important than shoes for your kids. They don't care if your kids have shoes, they care that they need a Mercedes.

It would be diffrent if the websites were repuitible sites but thet are not.I will not be taking away from our family when doing this business,we do not have kids and probably will never be able to.Again, i am sorry you feel this way.BTW,Disney store is definately a partner store for Quixar,Dont know whare you got that they were not.I dont appreciate you telling me that i could not have read the websites,i spent 2 days doing just that.

No, I doubt that you will change you mind... now. But per Quixtar's own data, 67.7% of IBOs who registered in 2001, did not renew in 2002. The renewal rates undoubtedly get worse the longer people are in the "business". So I think it's reasonable to say you'll come around in time.

It would be diffrent if the websites were repuitible sites but thet are not.
I assume you are referring to the anti-Quixtar sites. Well, most of the data and facts contained on those site have been taken from Quixtar's own releases, public records, and court depositions given under oath. That's a lot bigger paper trail than a lot of the stuff your upline will tell you.

My only plea to you, is please don't be like my parents, and don't check your critical thinking skills at the door of the meetings you go to. Ask questions. Don't automatically take what your upline is saying as gospel. They'll act real friendly to you... as long as you're part of their revenue stream. But if you stop buying tools or keep asking pesky questions... they can get ugly real fast.

Buckle up for a fun ride!

And have fun at the brainwashing sessions, they call them meetings but they can go on for 18 hours. That's a brainwashing technique, get them really really tired and people will do just about anything you want them to.

aahmom1,

You're speaking to a wall. Let it drop. Misty and her husband have made their choice. If they really have done the research and still want to join this system, then there's nothing you can say to stop them.

I can tell you that if a friend of mine came to us and wanted us to buy into Amway we'd say no and question their choices, like we are questioning Mistys.

Misty, I say good luck to you, and I hope that it works out for you and you don't become a case study out on a website somewhere.

Hi everyone who has replied to the Q/A thread. Thank goodness that my husband & I are survivors. Otherwise this weekend we'd be attending the latest brain washing session in Nashville. It's interesting to read all the horror stories, and how true they are - the words are familiar - dream stealer, core, leader, etc. I'm not sure how we finally came to understand that the only ones getting "rich" off of our efforts were our upline diamonds. We almost went broke getting our required 300 points a month. So we're GLAD to be done with it.
Also, I'm not sure how the partner stores are acquired, but I do know that the Disney Store.com is one.
The idea behind Q/A is a good one, but like many things - people ruin it by being greedy.

Shel,

Welcome back to reality. Hopefully you guys didn't lose too much money before you saw the light. luvindisneyworld is clearly in the early euphoria stages of being an IBO. If she's like my parents, she's got the vision of riches and being "free" in her head right now. At this point my parents had pictures of mansions, expensive cars, and other luxury items taped to mirrors, kitchen cabinet doors, and such to help keep them focused on "Going Diamond!"

I'm also lucky in the fact that, despite all of this, I'm still on good terms with my parents. Even though I was a "negative person" and QMO uplines often encourage IBOs to disassociate with "dream stealers" like me, my sister and I haven't been shunned. A lot of other familes aren't so lucky.

luvindisneyworld will also probably be told that anti-Quixtar people are "broke losers" and "quiters". They will build this image that if you quit Quixtar, that'll make you a "loser" too. If you're not making it yet, the problem isn't the business... it's you. Just try a litte harder... prospect a few more people and show the plan, draw some circles... listen to some more tapes... go to the next major function! You can do it! Fire Up! Go Diamond! Be Free! Go core! Fake it till you make it!

Any of this sound familiar?
