So I'm pulling into a bank parking lot. I can go straight, turn left or right. Good thing I'm driving slowly, because this car comes flying at me from my right. I had to brake to avoid hitting her (or her hitting me). Hey - big surprise - she's talking on her cell phone! So, I hold my hand up to my ear and mothing the words: "get off the cellphone!" This broad keeps talking and flips me off! Granted, she has had to stop to look for oncoming traffic, so at this point she was no longer moving. Yes, she was multi-tasking: talking & flipping!

It's sad how some people can be so ignorant and rude. This woman is so selfish. If she keeps up her reckless driving some day she's going to injure herself or someone else.

oh Min.. sorry to here you got flipped off.. but glad to know you were watchin' out for the other guy!

here's hoping you have a better day tomorrow!

Wednesday I got behind someone who was going 45 on the freeway, and seemed to have a difficult time driving. As I passed them, I looked to my right expecting to see an elderly person. Nope....a 40ish woman with her cell phone in her left hand, and her ciggie in her right.

Come to think of it....maybe 45 was too fast??!!!

If I get flipped off by an idiot, I flip them off near the seat area below where the other driver can see me. It's my way of getting even for their rude behavior. I don't know why, but it makes me feel a lot better to have returned the favor.

The driving skills of people I have seen since moving to South Florida is astonishing. I am from MA and have lived in Chicago for the last few years. Never have I seen worse drivers as the ones down here.

The other day, and this still bothers me, I was pulling out to go right. The first lane was a turn only lane so I had to go into the second lane which was a straight lane. There were three straight lanes here and I was pulling into the first one. It was lunch hour and decent traffic. Speed limit was 45mph. I look to the left and see a van about a block and half down in the right lane and a white car going straight in the middle lane. I pull out infront of the red van, plenty of room. Just as I straighten the car out, and I turned fast, that white car was behind me on my bumper. The girl whipped around me, while honking her horn at me and as she drove by she gave me the finger. By the time she got around me I was going at least 40, so I got up to speed very quickly. She had switched lanes to the right lane when I pulled out, without a turn signal b/c I saw her and she was in the other lane without a turn signal. I watched her weave in and out of traffic ahead of me and she was going at least 60 mph. I was going 45-50 and she was going much faster than me. So going 60 during lunch rush, switching in and out of lanes with out a turn signal and get this...........when she drove by me and gave me the finger she was holding a magazine against her steering wheel like she was reading it......

Really bothered me for a while. I am sometimes scared to drive down here...I worry about when I will need to go on the highway with the new baby in the car.

Sometimes even multi-taskers can't do everything.

It had been slightly raining when I went to work one morning, enough to have the wipers on intermittant cycle. When I left work, the sun was out. I noticed in traffic that the car behind me still had the wipers going. Why? Because the driver was on a cellphone and looking at papers with his other hand. Probably had shoes on so he couldn't get the wipers turned off with his toes!

See now I won't flip back - I rub my fingers together like people do to indicate money kwim? Then I shake my head and mouth "Not even if you pay me"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Seriously though - it's made some of the angriest people crack up laughing :)

I love this! I, too, flip under the dashboard just to keep my sanity but may switch to this one! :lmao:

My DH always leaves the wipers going. It drives me crazy.

I drive in Boston a lot, so I think I've seen it all. My favorite was when I was driving up a small street with two lanes going the same way and parking on both sides. Someone was trying to parallel park and not doing a very good job. I was stopped, waiting for them to finish. They stop and the guy is waving at me to go. He was lopped over into the lane. I couldn't go. I'm trying to tell him to finish parking. He's in the lane! He backs up further and gets out of the lane, so I start to go. the light was red and I was 1 car away from the intersection. All of a sudden, this fool in a Audi comes from around me from behind me and cuts me off - I guess he wanted to be first at the red light. He side swipes me. He gets out of his car and starts yelling at ME! Hello!?! We pull over. I give him my insurance information, he drags his feet giving me his. I call DH and say, "Someone hit me...." and the guy starts screaming - "Someone hit YOU?" I told DH I had to go. This guy and I got into a shouting match. His wife was trying to calm him down. She knew it was his fault. For almost an hour, he's writing down information....and yelling at me. I finally told him to shut the bleep up and copy the information or I was calling the cops back and telling them they needed to be there (in Boston, unless there are injuries or the need for a road to be closed, the cops don't come). He never filed a claim - despite his insistence that he was wronged. His Audi was torn to shreds. I have some scratches on my Blazer, but never filed a claim.

I don't even think he was on the phone....I think he was just a jerk and a lousy driver. :)

DH told me that a new Washington State law will go into effect in 2007 that bans using a cell phone while driving a vehicle. I'm not sure if this refers to banning holding one and talking, or even using a hands-free phone. Yes, having one less hand on the wheel is less safe, but it's the mental distraction from talking and listening on the phone that is equated with driving drunk.

It will be interesting come January to see what happens with this! Every day I see people on the freeway on the phone, and even just coming through my neighborhood one evening last week, 3 of the 8 drivers I passed were yapping on the phone...
