Thanks to a 30% PIN code I got in the mail today, I'm in the early stages of planning a trip in December. I've stayed at POFQ and AsMu and loved them both for different reasons. The one thing they had in common, in my experience was the quiet factor. Both were very quiet, relaxing resorts.

Of the Deluxe resorts, which do you feel is the quietest and why?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

I'd say that the Poly is probably the quietest - followed by the GF. The Poly has its rooms broken up into the different long-houses and they are pretty quiet as long as you aren't around the pools.

I don't want to confuse matters, my parets stayed in Poly for years, and moved to GF because they think it is more quiet. At least we (myself and PP) agree on the top two! :-)

yeah, I cannot see the Poly as being quiet! I would go more for the GF, or even the AKL. The YC is nice also. Or if you want to go bigger, get one of those garden suites at the BWI, very romantic!!

IMO the Poly is the LEAST quiet.....the lobby is always
like grand central station....

I think AKL would be the quietest....but since there is construction there...

I would pick WL....
happy planning

Poly is anything but quiet, this place was slammed with loud families by both pools, the marina, the beach, the monorail area, the dining area, the lobby area, you couldnt get away from the noise.

The YC was super quiet, we loved it! The quiet pool was empty the entire time we were there, we had it all to ourselves. THe lobby was nice and tame as well. The BC was another matter, we went over there a few times dinner and it was insane.

WL was very nice and quiet the week we were there, CR wasnt bad either.

Looking forward to staying at the OKW in April, I have been reading up on the resort and the one thing that everyone says is how quiet it is, very relaxing

The Poly for us was the best of both worlds. The lobby at times would be super crowded and full of people, especially at prime meal times. At times we people watched while DD colored and watched some classic cartoons. But the walkways were fairly empty when we strolled around the resort at any time of the day. The pool was probably just as occupied as other other resort.

Our longhouse, Figi was pretty quiet as well the first 3 evenings we were there. Since there is no Luau on Sun and Mon and there was a rainout on Sat, we felt like that beach was all ours a few evenings. But when the Luau started up, we loved to people watch.

When we visited the GF, it seemed quiet until we went to the 1900 Park Faire Dinner and the place was a mad house like the Poly. I never stayed at GF so I cannot comment on the room areas.

After about 24 hours, we figured out the flow of the Poly as far as crowds and noise. It was a perfect fit for our little (quiet) family. ;)

Contemporary Wing room. Very quiet, very nice. Nice views, too. Plus close to the pools and marina.

Mind if I ask, was it 30% off room only or entire package, and were there dates attached?

I would vote AKL/WL!

Ditto for AKL, it is off the beaten path and the lobby was pretty sedate. I think it has something to do with the wildlife all around you.

Thanks everyone for your responses!

The brochure says 30% off per night in a standard room, but in small print below that it says other room types available at varying rates. I'm assuming it's luck of the draw as to whether or not a CM will book it as a package or just room only, that's what I'm seeing with other recent PIN recipients.

The dates on my brochure are:
Jan 6-17 and Jan 20-31
Feb 24- Mar 5
Mar 30- Apr 8
Aug 10- Sept 27
Oct 19- Nov 1
Nov 9- Nov 15
Dec 7- Dec 17

The Poly was definitely NOT quiet. We could hear the family in the next room talk the whole time & they weren't shouting, but using normal voices.:sad2: I could hear as the mom went over the next day's schedule & there was a little one that was fussy. I am sure they heard us as well. We felt like we had to whisper in our own room. We won't stay there again. We are trying AKL in a few weeks & I can get back to you on that.

We love the WL because it is so serene. When you walk in, you can faintly hear crickets. :D Some rooms overlooking the main pool were quite noisy, though, while others overlooking Woods were much much quieter.

AKL also was very quiet - I also think due to all the animals and the fact people are restricted to walking around only near the pool. (oh, but there is construction, isn't there...? Won't that be done soon?)

The best thing is, that the AKL and WL are the least expensive of the Deluxe resorts.

That was my experience at the Royal Pacific. It was a truly beautiful resort but I felt like I was sharing my room with the neighbors. That's exactly what I don't want this trip.:headache:

The absolute quietest resort we've stayed at, hands down, was AKL. Talk about peaceful, quiet and relaxing ... and we got all this during a peak period. It was wonderful!

How did you get the 30% off offer? Did it come with the planning DVD?

No, I didn't order the planning DVD, it just randomly showed up in my mailbox. Best day ever, I'm not the kind of person who gets lucky offers. :worship:

The quietest resort I've stayed at was the YC (I've stayed at all the deluxes besides BC and GF). The rooms, hallways, gift shop, and lobby are by far the mellowest on property.

While I find the long houses are quiet..the Grand Ceromonial House area..where you will find your dining options, lobby, shops and monorail..can get pretty noisy. Especially since you have O'hana's ...people from all over are scheduling meals there. Can just get a bit loud if you are eating say in Kona..which is on the same level.

I would say that the yacht club is very quiet. We stayed there for 8 or 9 nights, and we never heard a peep. The resort is a little more adult friendly, so I think that helps reduce some of the crowds of young kids:confused3
