Quickest way to US from HRH pool?

We took a route last time that an employee pointed out, and there were signs so I'm sure thats the way suppose to go. It was veering left as walk out onto pool patio, over the hills and thru the woods to a path. I remember from years back it being quicker, exit to a roundabout drop off area. Seems familiar they may have closed that off. So, my question is, can you still LEAVE through that route to get to US quicker? I can understand blocking entrance to the pool coming back but wondered if we could save some walking going from the Kitchen to US. Thanks.

ah, the secret pathway i so loved........

it was closed off after the hurricane 3 years ago.

i still do the shortcut.
i go out the front lobby walk to the left, go past the palms rest. and thru the parking lot on the sidewalk.
this is the employees parking lot .
you will see where the gate is on left of the shortcut way you mentioned in your post. this is the same sidewalk you took thru the pool cut through way.

last year i stayed at rph and not hrh. all other trips i have been at hrh and used the shortcut thru the parking lot.

in case there have been any changes from year before last, ask the front desk.
in 2003,4,5 the shortcut way was closed and i used the parking lot to cut thru to the studios.
check with the staff to see if this is still allowed.
or if it would be a problem if you used it.

Thanks! Do you happen to have a HRH resort map? I looked before and could not find one, it might help me locating which way to go. Too bad about the old shortcut. Whatever way I went last time felt like a fairly long walk for a hotel that looks like its at the mouth of US.

i checked with damo and she wasn't the one that posted the map of hrh.
i'm still looking for it on that one thread it appeared.

it was a super map.
someone scanned the map you receive at the hotel and posted it.

that's a good map.

go out the front by the palm (6 on the map) or front door (1 on map).
down the stairs and turn left on the sidewalk which is the edge of the parking lot.
follow it around to where it empties to the open area by studios.


does that help you with looking at the map now?

prior to that, you walked around the pool by the beach club.
walk between that area and the slide to get to the gate door that emptied into the parking lot area for the short cut to the studios.
