DD & I plan on being at Magic Kingdom bright and early on a non ee day. We are going to RACE to Space Mountain, her favorite ride, get a Fastpass and then ride it until the Fastpass time.

My question: as soon as we use the Fastpass we want to hustle over to Splash and Big Thunder Mountains. Which is the fastest route to get to Frontierland from Space Mountain?

Please be specific, as time will be of the essence! :D

I'd say you have 2 options:

Head out of Tommorowland and walk straight thru the hub in front of the castle into Liberty Square and walk to Splash.

Or - head to Toontown, get on the train and ride it around to Frontierland.

Not sure which would be faster - I'm guessing walking though since the train would stop for a few minutes on Main St.

Practice, practice, practice. Sorry that's how you get to Carnegie hall. You may want to consider doing just the opposite and go to Splash and big thunder first, catch the train to Toon Town and walk over to Space from there.

I think the train would take longer because you don't know how long you'll have to wait for it and the fact that it stops on Main Street. I think walking would be faster, but I would walk across the hub and through Adventureland back to Splash Mountain. It may be the same difference as walking through Liberty Square and Frontierland, but it always seemed shorter to me.

I second the Adventure Land way. Don't walk in front of the castle, but cut thru where Walt and Mickey are and then enter Adventure Land. I think there are less people in Adventure land without strollers. it is stroller heaven in Liberty Square and behind the castle.

I proved it to my brother-in-law during Easter, and I beat him by a long shot and he did say he had to wait, go around strollers, etc.

I second Adventure Land, but use the restroom shortcut to Frontierland then shoot over to Splash/Thunder. I think it might save a few minutes because you don't have to double back.

Another thought:

If you decide to go to Liberty Square, take the pathway that runs along the river beginning at the RiverBoat ride. It's kind of hidden, but sometimes it is empty and you can get a straight shot.

I have heard that THE EARLIEST FastPass time available is now 10:05 -- even if you get it at park opening (even on EMH days).

Maybe someone who's been in the past couple of days knows for sure?

Without running the computer software.....I think the walk through Adventureland, cutting through the restroom shortcut is probably your fastest option from Tomorrowland. And I'd ride Space Mountain first. It's got roughly the same ride capacity as the average of Splash and BTMRR, but I think more people go to Space early in the morning.

Bre'r Karen is almost certainly correct about the train option. As the train makes one trip around the park about every 20 minutes, your expected wait time to board the train is 10 minutes. Allow another 6 minutes for the ride from Frontierland to Toontown, plus the walk to Tomorrowland from Toontown, and you're looking at around 19 minutes to get where you're going, on average. You can probably walk from Frontierland to Tomorrowland in 7, no sweat.

jcemom, I asked someone that question a couple days ago, and they said they were still getting FASTPASSes with return times prior to 10 a.m. We're setting up to do some research on this in the next two weeks. In the meantime, if anyone's heard anything else about this, please post it.

Sincerely,

Len

From our experiences, Toontown does not open until regular park hours. We had hang our heads and backtrack through Tomorrowland through the Liberty Square route. The train was only running for folks on the Steam Engine Tour.

From Space Mountain, head straight to the walkway between Alien Encounter and Buzz Lightyear, across Main Street at the Circle where you will find the "Partners" statue and head where the signs to Frontierland lead you (the middle walkway of the 3 on that side. Then bear left and then follow the walkway to Splash Mountain.

To be honest, we usually do it backwards from the way you are doing it, and have found it works much better. We get to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder and have been able to ride both with no Fastpasses and bearly a 5-10 minute wait. Afterwards, we head to Tomorrowland, backtracking the way I explained previously, grab the FP's for Space Mountain, and while waiting, ride Buzz Lightyear. This is a tried and true way for us, and perhaps it will work out better for you, too!

We always do those rides on an E-ride night. the lines are less than 5 minutes long, and there is nothing like riding BTM at midnight druing a new moon. We plan to do that to some first time riders this Tuesday! We've done this on 3 previous trips. We even rode Buzz Lightyear 3 times in a row with NO WAIT Time!

With e-rdies you can walk, not run. There isn't more than 5000 people in the MK at that time. It is worth the extra $12pp. You have to be staying at a WDW resort to buy these passes.

Unfortunately there has to be an e-night during your stay to take advantage of it :( (still keeping my fingers crossed for September, but not holding my breath).

That walkway is where Woody, Jessie, Bullseye always seem to be signing autographs. I think that the lines there would slow down that route.

What is the restroom cut thru that people are talking about?

As you're walking through Adventureland it is on your right approximately across from the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. I'm not sure if that's faster than just continuing on through Adventureland though. Where I find that cut through comes in really handy is when you're leaving the park and you're in Frontierland. I like to watch the 3pm parade from Frontierland by that walkthrough and then as soon as the parade has passed me, cut through that walkway, through Adventureland, into Casey's and walk through the all the shops to get out of MK before the parade even finishes.

This is what we did in late February; we went to Big Thunder; got fastpass. Went on Splash. Went on Big Thunder. Then did Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Aladdin. The longest we waited was 15 minutes for Jungle Cruise. Then we got a FP for Space, did Buzz and TTA, went on Space, ate lunch. It was an awesome morning! This was there is no back-tracking, and with the exception of Space, it seems all other great rides are on the West side of the park. (I mean, we love Buzz, but we never waited more than 10 minutes for it- maybe 15). After lunch we went on Haunted Mansion (10-15 minute line) and It's a Small World. Then we took a break and came back a few days later and did all of Fantasyland, Buzz again (this was a EE day) then re-did our favorites on the West side of the park, & then returned in the late afternoon and did Toontown, the cars, Space again, Buzz again, TTA, AE, & the Tea Cups.

Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop at ExtraTerrorestrial Alien Encounter and see if you can borrow their teleporter ;) !

Seriously, cutting through the circle near Walt and Mickey, then using the the wooden walkway from the boat dock to Splash is probably the most direct and least conjested route. Good Luck !

I'm thrilled by all the helpful suggestions! Thanks so much everyone!:D
