What's the quickest way through AK to get to EE once the park opens?
I know that there is a "secret shortcut" somewhere.
Anyone know? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Thanks, Alicia pirate:

There was conversation about this right after the Sneak Peak previews in January. It would seem like cutting thru DinoLand would be shorter, but it's really not. Best bet is to head directly to Asia (near Kali) - that has been shown to be a shorter route. I tried it myself (in January and May) - and I felt the Asia route was far shorter. Enjoy E:E!

Good to know, we usually hit the Safari first. But, our day will be shorter with a two-year-old. We're just trying to maximize our time. Thanks for the reply! Alicia

Gee, for a person like me that gets turned around in AK, I will find the slowest route if anyone is interested. :rotfl2: I have to keep remembering ASIA, ASIA!

Just head for the tall mountain I guess!

If you are right at the rope, it is quicker through Asia. If you are behind some crowds, it is quicker through Dinoland because most of the crowd you were behind went thorugh Asia.

We will be at Donald's Breakfastosaurus at 8:00. Does anyone know if they will lead us over to EE or are we on our own?

Not such a good plan. Especially not THEN.

The LINES back up towards ASIA.

So if you come in via the Dinoland route, you will have to walk (the wrong way) past all the others thronging in via Asia.

AND... if you are in the park at rope-drop, there will be CMs that ESCORT the crowd back to EE (no "running ahead" is allowed) and the CMs go via ASIA..

So if its after rope-drop time,
just go via the ASIA route, and you'll be there as soon as anyone else can be.

Friday, May 19, 2006: this was our experience:

DAK non-EMH (9am open)
Donald's Breakfastosaurus: 8am Ressie.
Enter for breakfast at 7:55am
Breakfast finished at 8:40am
CM "held" everyone at Bone-yard area (nobody allowed to go back into DAK)
At 8:55am, we were "released" to walk on past the Tarzan Rocks/Nemo Theater (still just I-beams, under construction) to the bridge where two CM's were holding a rope.

They watched across the water until they saw the hordes of folks (being led by CM's) heading towards Asia.

They speed-walked us back to EE, but the "hordes" from the front gate beat us to the standby entrance (Asia is the shorter route to EE than Dinoland).

But, one of our CM's walked OUR group directly thru the FASTPASS entrance (she told the FP CM that we were "coming through"!)

We were on the FIRST ride, in the second car of EE that day!

COOL!

Now, I don't know if this is STANDARD PROCEDURE (so don't COUNT on it to happen) but it was a PERFECT way to start our DAK day, that morning.

Hop on a cheetah (fastest known runners in the park, although the gazelles might not be too bad) as soon as you spot one, hang a right and hang on for dear life!!

Be sure & mow down at least 20 innocent children on your way there. Don't use the walkway, instead lasso a rope halfway up the mountain, bypassing the other mountain climbers and drop yourself right into the first empty seat you see on the way up! When the train pulls into the station, crouch down into the seat so the CM's can't see you and go around again.

Now that's an Expedition!
:thumbsup2

Thanks Robo! That works for me. I'll relay my experiences when I return on July 22.

Our experience on Sunday, May 21st was similar.

We had an 8:00 am breakfast at Donald's

Finished at about 8:50 am.

Cast Members just dropped the rope at Dinoland, but did not escort us.

We were walking toward the attraction and my son said "walk faster". I looked over and there was a "wall" of folks coming from the front entrance.

We were let into the FP entrance just like the above poster. We were on the first train also.

We also did this for the Passholder preview and were the first ones in line that morning. They actually dropped the Dinoland rope for us at 8:50.
