"Dear GayDays Community,

After extensive evaluation and many difficult conversations, we have made the decision to pause the GayDays Orlando event originally scheduled for June 2026.

This decision follows significant changes to our host hotel agreement, the loss of key corporate sponsorship support impacting LGBTQIA+ events nationwide, and broader external challenges affecting Pride and community events across the country. These factors made it impossible to deliver the GayDays experience at the level our community expects and deserves.

This was not a decision we took lightly. For more than three decades, GayDays has been about bringing our community together to celebrate connection, visibility, and pride. Our commitment to that mission remains unchanged.

This pause gives us the opportunity to thoughtfully reimagine the future of GayDays and build a stronger, more sustainable event. Our focus is on returning with an experience that reflects the energy, scale, and community spirit that have always defined GayDays.

We will be sharing updates in the coming months and inviting community feedback as we shape the next chapter together.

To everyone who has supported GayDays over the years — thank you. Your support, loyalty, and belief in this event mean everything to us.

We look forward to celebrating together again soon.

With appreciation,
Charles & Josh

Well, that's horrible. I time my trip every year for GD even though I don't attend the offsite events. My bestie and I will still be at the parks with our red shirts on, even if we're the only ones.

I guess this means the Magic Kingdom photo on Saturday isn't happening. We've been there for it four years in a row and have yet to be visible in the photos because I'm disabled and use a scooter or wheelchair and every single year people run up to the front and shove me out of the way so they can stand directly in front of us, and nobody seems to care. It's not malice, it's just selfish me me me me obliviousness. They simply don't care that they're deliberately standing in front of a bunch of sitting people. Every. Single. Year. It's the #1 on my bucket list to actually get into that damn photo.

Well, since GayDays aren't "officially" sponsored by Disney anyway, I still have my early June trip planned, as I never attend the events. I would guess there will still be people at the MK on the First Saturday of June. Remember, Gays Days didn't start out with all the private events and hotel agreements and sponsorships. It was simply people in the community showing their pride by wearing RED. I do hope Disney continues to do the photo op walls and such. Or perhaps Disney will step in with a little something, as it makes them $$$ and Josh D'Amaro, as the new CEO, will likely want to present the company as being open to all types guests.
