We are starting our morning at HS & then will hop directly to Epcot.......advice on the best plan?

We're planning on doing the same thing and will probably take the boat which puts you entering Epcot back in the WS which is what we prefer anyway. Andy

If you don't mind it, walking was fastest for us. Otherwise, take the boat to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot.

If you have young kids do NOT walk....... I did once......once, lesson learned.

If you're asking what's fastest, that would be walking, the boat is just plain slow and has to make three stops and with walking there's no uncertainty how long you'll have to wait for a boat or for a bus to the front of Epcot. With that said avoid walking if it's hot out,it will wear you out. With young kids it's also not a good idea, even in cooler weather. If it's a nice cool crisp day I would walk back and forth all day,the Boardwalk area is beautiful, maybe you can grab a beer at Big River grill at the Boardwalk.

Think happy thoughts. Sprinkle yourself with the right kind of Pixie Dust. And say: " I can Fly".

If that does not work, if you are going to Future World take a bus, if going to World Showcase take a boat.

It's approx. 1.2 miles, depending on the route you take...most direct would be to go by the Boardwalk, not Beach Club.

I was just looking at some of the maps, would you just basically walk down the river from Epcot to HS?

If we see the the boat coming or loading we catch it and get off at Swan & Dolphin, then it's a short walk by Boardwalk to Epcot. If you stay on the boat it still has to go to Yacht/bc and then to Bw before on to Epcot(takes a lot longer). If no boat in sight we just walk and cut thru Bw pool area.

IMO unless you have ADRs to catch in time or some other type of time constraint just slow down and take the boat. Consider it an attraction, the cruise that magically transports you from the international World Showcase of Epcot to the world of Hollywood past and present. It really is a nice ride and will give you a nice break from walking and much nicer that riding a boring ol' bus. The only better option would be Cheshire Figment's but if you find out where they sell the pixie dust let me know!

Not really a river (they are lakes) but, yes.

If you're looking for the EASIEST way and not necessarily the QUICKEST way (not in a hurry) definitely walk. We always walk just because the boats take a long time and the line for the boat can get backed up at times. If it is a hot day, just make a pit stop at the Boardwalk for a quick drink and a/c. We sometimes stop at the ESPN Club because they have the bar area where you can quickly get served, but there are plenty of places to stop- again, if you're not in a hurry that is. There's also Beaches N Cream at the BC for ice cream.

To me I honestly believe walking is the quickest. Just take the path that goes towards and passed BWV, and follow this along the boardwalk over the bridge and it will bring you right into the International gateway area of World Showcase.

The boats are nice because you don't have to walk, but we have beaten the boats from DHS to Boardwalk before. Plus they stop again after BW before going to WS.

It is a little over a mile (for most people, roughly 20 minutes). My wife and I did it with my little one in a stroller, then did it another time where she walked most of the way and both times we made it in less than 20 minutes.

Walking (at least without kids) is quicker than the boat. But the boat is a nice little ride that I enjoy quite a bit.

My kids made the walk just fine - except when we had to take shelter under the bridge during an intense thunderstorm, LOL! That, they did not like!

I don't find the boats any cooler or more relaxing - they have crappy AC, and the diesel fuel stinks, and the engines are loud. They need a new fleet, IMO. And they should be allowed to go faster than they do!

The quickest way would probably be to take a cab... If I had something to get to, and didn't want to get messy and sweaty I would probably do that.
