Hi, My flight is landing at 9:55 and I need to get to a PS for a breakfast at 12:10. What is the quickest way to leave the airport. If there are four of us will we have to pick up other people with the super shuttle. ( I think I read that they pick up other fares around the airport then leave. Is this true? Should i rent a 7 person van? Will that take us directly to our hotel? Thanks, gina :)

Quickest would be a rental car or taxi. A taxi will run you about $36 from the airport to the hotel, and about $40-45 for the return trip. You can use Super Shuttle, but more the likely you'll be sharing it with others, and it will cost more for 4 people then a taxi. We use a rental car from that airport. Its about 15 miles from the airport to DL. Its a straight shot down Ball Rd which runs behind the park. It will take about 1/2 hour or so. We were able to get an Alamo rental car, using their "hot deals", for $45 for an entire weekend (thurs- mon). We spent $8 in gas on top of that. Use D60C for a $10 weekend discount.

We just returned from a trip to DL. When we arrived at Long Beach Airport, I had planned to a take a taxi to our hotel because I had read that it would be $36.00. As we started to walk towards the taxis, a man from a shuttle company said he would take us for $35.00. I was a little leary at first, but he ensured me that it was an exclusive ride just for the four us without any stops. The van was a large white passenger van and it was very spacious and clean. I can't remember the name of the company, but I will check with my husband to see if he remembers. It worked out really well for us. I believe the ride was less than thirty minutes.

Is it easy to catch a cab? Where are the cab stands? Do they have enough room for the four of us with Luggage? Thanks, Gina

I would take a cab. It's quick and easy. When you exit the airport you just cross the street and there is the line for the taxi's. They have mini van taxis you could take so that you would fit comfortably. We used a taxi in April for 3 adults and it was super fast and easy and only $36!

As soon as you walk out of LB Airport, straight across the entrance/exit is a whole line of taxi's. You do have to cross the street but there is a ped crosswalk and it is easy enough. They have van taxis too so you will be able to easily fit in either a reg taxi or a van taxi depending on how much luggage you have. We originally arranged for Karmel Shuttle but they messed up so we ended up with a taxi. There is a trick too-ask for the "flat rate" before you get in the cab! Also, there is a person there who is in charge of getting the taxis and he walks you to (I guess) the driver whose turn it is next. You can always ask him what the flat rate is and then you will know how much it will cost.

Thanks for the tips, it's nice to know the cabbies in Ca are the same as in NY. :lmao:
