Quickest Route To WDW?

i hope i've posted this in the right place ok, we're driving south through Georgia on I-75 to Orlando-what would be the quickest way to get to wdw? turnpike or no? with the way gas prices keep going up, we need to take the shortest possible route TIA!

I drive from Louisiana, but once we get into florida we stay on I-10, then go down I-75 & we take the turnpike to I-4. I would say once we get on the turnpike it takes about 1 1/2 hours, if I am remembering correctly. It always seem's quick to us, but we travel late at night so there is no traffic.

FROM ATLANTA ABOUT 248 MILES TO THE FLORIDA STATE LINE ON I-75. STILL ON I-75 FROM FLORIDA STATE LINE TO THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE IS ABOUT 139 MILES. TAKE EXIT 328 ON I-75 TO THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE WHICH IS FLT EXIT 309 DRIVE ON TO EXIT 259. GET OFF ON TO I-4 EXIT 77 GO SOUTH ON I-4 TO EXIT 65B OSCEOLA PARKWAY AND GO WEST TO WORLD DRIVE. TOTAL MILEAGE ABOUT 450 MILES FROM ATLANTA. TURNPIKE MILEAGE IS 50 MILES.

We go a slightly different way, I-75 to the Fla. turnpike, but then get off
at the exit for Rt. 127 (Clermont) Follow 127 south until Highway 192. 192
takes you right to the main gate.

I don't know if it's shorter, but it seems quicker because you avoid the I-4
traffic.

It's 27, not 127. I live on it and this is the way I go to work at WDW every day.

Yes, But 192 Can Be A Nightmare.

By the way, 27 is the way the Disney Welcome center sent us in from Ocala. 75 to turnpike to 27 and over 192 Which is actually from the less busy side of WDW.

The I-75 to Turnpike to 27 to 192 is the fastest and least miles. I live on 27 half an hour from the AKL, and can get from the Hartsfield area to my house in jsut around six hours, as a reference point.

There are a couple Publix markets on 27 after you get off the Turnpike, which are not in tourist areas so good places to pick up snacks/bottled water.

well, if you are going during the spring break season, 192 is a parking lot. In 2004 non easter week it took us 1:45 min to go from 27 to the main entrance of disney. I would not go that way if you paid me! I dont know where you are staying but what we do is take the turnpike to the new western beltway 429. Exit at SR 535 it is 2 lane divided highway all the way to Buena Vista Blvd. if you are staying at a MK resort turn right at vista blvd. there is a red light or if you are staying at another resort area go to the next light and turn right on Buena Vista blvd. Far less traffic, and it is shorter and faster than trying to go the other ways. IMHO

Well, that's part of the problem. You need to turn onto Sherbeth, by the Mc Donalds and tacky t-shirt place just after the purple "5" sign. That cuts out the majority of the congestion.

I drove from my house to AKL last Friday at 6:30 pm and had no problem making it in under 30 minutes. There was no real traffic tie up until I got to within half a mile of Sherbeth, and even then it was manageable.

Would the above mentioned way be quicker than taking the new section of the Western Highway(429)? Looking at the map, it looks like the 27 to 192 would be faster? We would be in this area at about 10am-11am on a Monday, June 19, if that helps?

With The New Western Way Opening Tomorrow <April 4,2006> I Believe The Best Way Would Be I-75 South To The Florida Turnpike, Do Not Get Off At US 27, Instead Go On To Exit 267A On The Turnpike And Take SR 429 South To The New Western Way Entrance <Hartzog Road> To WDW. This Way No Need To Be On US 192 By Taking Us 27.
