What is the quickest way to get from Hollywood Studios to Rose & Crown in Epcot? Bus, boat, or walking?? I tend to think it might be walking but I am not sure I know how to get to the walking path. How much time do you think this will take?

Unless the boat is at the dock when you arrive, walking is quicker. Even then, we always get off the boat at the first stop and walk the rest of the way. I would allow around 20-25 min (the walk is about 15) but you have to go through the IG/bag check and all that.

I second hopping off the boat at the Swan/Dopling. It's MUCH faster to walk from that point.

I don't think I'd enjoy walking the whole distance, so I'd probably still wait for the boat for the first bit (DHS->Swan), but that's a personal preference.

I agree. I've done the walk from Boardwalk to DHS and it's a hike. I'd take the boat to one of the hotels and walk from there. Advantage is that Rose and Crown is right by the IG entrance.

We walk it (unless a boat is just coming in and it looks like the line is short enough we can get on). It takes about 20 minutes. The boat takes about 30 since it makes three stops before Epcot.

If you decide to walk, it will take at least 20 minutes. We always cut through the BWI pool area to avoid walking all the way to Atlantic Dance Hall area as it makes for a faster/shorter walk. I wouldn't attempt this on a hot afternoon - there isn't much shade.

I would suggest one modification. Instead of getting off at the first stop, (S/D), I would get off at the second stop which is the Yacht/Beach Club. The time the boat takes to get from the S/D to the Y/B is pretty even with the time it takes to walk there. It is the boat's diversion from Y/B to the Boardwalk and then from the Boardwalk to Epcot where you gain time by walking. But the hop over from the S/D to Y/B is pretty quick. Plus, once you get off there, the walk to Epcot is really short. This route won't cost you any extra time. (OK. Maybe one or two minutes for the purists out there), and it will save you a good bit of walking.

The boat takes 8 minutes to get from HS to Swan/Dolphin. From there it is a very fast and easy walk to Epcot. I want to say 10 minutes. You could stay on the boat but it will stop at Boardwalk and Beach/Yacht Club before going to Epcot and the walk is faster. To walk to Epcot from Swan and Dolphin walk to the Boardwalk and follow it all the way to the end. Continue up and over the bridge and you're at Epcot.

It is actually the reverse. It stops at Yacht/Beach Club and then Boardwalk before going to Epcot. If you are on the boat and are arriving at the S/D stop and you see that there are very few people waiting to board the boat there, then the time it takes for those few people to board plus the time it takes to cruise over to the Y/B stop is about the same amount of time it takes to walk over the bridge and over to the Y/B, so I would stay on. If there are a lot of people getting ready to board the boat and you think that the boarding process will be lengthy, then get off at S/D and walk if those couple of minutes are important.

I just meant it stops at both places. I know I can easily beat the boat walking because our family has split up and half of us walked and half took the boat. If you're a slow walker YMMV.

Just wanted to make it clear because the order of the route is really where the time difference lies.

I agree that you can easily beat the boat if one is comparing walking all the way versus taking the boat all the way. But the point is that the place where you make up all that time is when the boat is completing the segments from the Y/B --> Boardwalk --> Epcot. When you take those segments out of the trip and compare walking all the way to taking the boat to the Yacht/Beach Club and walking from there, the time difference is very minimal at a normal walking pace. And since many people might not want to make the full 20 minute walk, this should be useful information.

I have made the walk from Epcot/International Gateway to DHS in about 18 mins (with a stop in my room to get a jacket)..but I was really cranking. Had to get to DHS before they closed so I could see the Osborne Lights! It should take about 20 mins to get from DHS to Epcot. If the boat is right there, loading and you can get on, take the boat to the YC/BC and then walk to Epcot. But if the boat is nowhere in sight or just leaving the dock, walk. The walkway is past the end of the canal..walk out of DHS, keeping the buses on your right and the canal on your left. Follow the sidewalk past the actual parking lot area (on your right). You will come to a slope downward, with a sign pointing you to BW...take this. When you get to the back of Luna Park (the slide area of the pool at BW) go right, into the pool area. Cross it and you will see a tunnel type area. Go through the tunnel, then go left and you're on the boarwalk. Head right...keep walking past ESPN and up the hill and over the bridge. Go right after the bridge and you're just about at IG!
If you take the boat, get off at YC/BC. Go to the right when you leave the dock area...keep walking up the hill and then down again (bridge to BW will be on the right). Then, you're at IG. If the boat is there and you take it and get off at the YC/BC dock, it should take you about 18 mins total. But if you have to wait for the boat to come, add another 15-20 mins.

Is it ok/allowed to walk through the Boardwalk pool area? Is there a sign there? I would think it would be gated off? No?

The pool itself is gated but there are walkways alongside it. You would just cross from the path over the service road to the walkway and walk through as described by another poster. You would exit near the Wyland Gallery and then head towards the boardwalk.
