Help!!
United changed my flight for Marathon weekend. I am going to have to go STRAIGHT from the airport to the ESPN WWoS to pick up our numbers and race packets. No time to spare. If the flight gets delayed, or it snows, we're not running.

Can someone recommend BEST, QUICKEST car service. We are 6 people.

Is it better to just get a curbside cab? I have ME booked, so I will let them take the checked luggage to the resort.

Yes, but they can't fit all of us on it. With Disney's policy that everyone must be present with their ID for packet pick up, that does all of us no good. I am resolved to try and make it!

Recent posts have brought to light that Disney can help with such packet pickup problems. So contact RunDisney.

You can't get on different flights from each other that get out early enough? Are there good flights on other airlines that are a decent price? If so, cancel and get that refund. When an airline changes a flight like that and can't accommodate, even a nonrefundable flight becomes refundable. But the other airlines should be checked first.

Now that they scan magic bands to utilize ME, I wouldn't try and send luggage on ME if you aren't riding it yourself. ME isn't a luggage delivery service for those who choose to travel to property via other means.
If your luggage doesn't show up, you could (and SHOULD) be out of luck trying to hold Disney accountable for its whereabouts as they will clearly be able to see/verify that you did not abide by the terms which are you are to ride ME yourself as well.

Yikes! Thanks for letting me know. I just assumed the baggage handlers would scan the tags, and deliver to the resort.
 
Psst! Magic bands are not mandatory to board Magical Express although in this case it is academic because a curbside cab is fastest and easy, too.

I have not used a car service but I would guess that they are all about the same in terms of average trip time.

You do not have to take the first cab in the line if there is something you like better about a cab further back such as being large enough for all 6 of you or being of the brand you prefer.

True...but if your bag goes missing, you really don't have a leg to stand on because it is t h e paperwork. Now, if you don't have a MB you must go to the counter to check in and they clearly know who rides and who doesn't. Before, they just knew that SOMEONE (at least one person from the ressie) rode ME to the hotel.
Is it a risky proposition to send your luggage on ME without using it yourself? I guess it depends on how lucky you feel! I wouldn't risk it. If my luggage were to get lost, I would be upset at the amount of money I'd be out and frankly I should be because I didn't play by the rules.
But of course, there are always a few who don't think the rules apply to them...just everyone else.
 
If you don't have a Magic Band then when you go to the Magical Express counter, the needed paper work will be created.

Sometimes the CMs cut corners, like not ask how many bags you have, but this does not in itself disqualify you from making baggage claims through Disney if the need ultimately arose.

If your Magic Bands did not arrive at your home in time to start your vacation, or if your reservation calls for you to pick them up at your resort, or if the MBs don't work due to some glitch, then that does not disqualify you from Magical Express baggage claims through Disney.
If that is the situation, then you would be REQUIRED to check in at Disney's ME desk at MCO where you will be given an equivalent to have scanned in order to board ME. Short of having it scanned just prior to boarding the bus and then walking away, they will know *you* didn't ride ME. The system to see who rides now and who doesn't is much more refined than it used to be since the start of MB (and equivalent papers for those without MB).
And again, *you* were informed that *you* are to ride if *you* want to send *your luggage*. Disney does not offer nor advertise it as a luggage delivery service for others arriving to their property via other means.

I called Rundisney. They are adamant on the pickup. I knew they would be. We run every year. I booked a car service with great reviews. Changing flights is not an option. We all want to fly together.

Bumping.... Can anyone recommend a reliable car service?

Mears We just used them. The driver met us at the bottom of the escalator headed to baggage claim and walked us right out past the Mears desk to the car. Not the cheapest but it was painless.
