Quickest b/t MK and POP....

Just wondering.... If we can't get right on the bus to MK @ POP (not there, too crowded, etc.), is it quicker to take the bus to Epcot and then take the monorail to MK? What about on the way back at night? Has anyone tried it?

No, no, no and no! We tried this one morning (our first morning). We were all ready to go and the MK bus was there but we didn't make it on because the que was full. My DMIL was back at her room eating her breakfast when we left her. We got on the EPCOT bus and transferred to the monorail and waited for that. Then it stopped at TTC and we had to switch monorails to get to MK. As we were getting off the monorail my MIL called my cell and said she was on main street and had been waiting for a few minutes. She finished her breakfast, brushed her teeth, went to one last potty break and then got on the bus and she still beat us there by about 5 minutes.

It seems like it would be faster when the EPCOT bus is waiting there, empty, taunting you, but it's not.

Our experience has been, in general, the monorail is S-L-O-W. It's neat, it's fun, it's easy to roll a stroller on when not crowded...but SLOW. And the frustrating thing is often, and I'm sure there is a good reason for it, you will be sitting at the station and you'll see the train, taunting you with its gleaming aerodynamic visage. Yet, it is just sitting there,on the tracks, 100s of feet from the station. NOT MOVING.

We missed the boat from FW to MK one day. No prob. says DM, here is the boat to CR, we'll take it to the CR and ride the monorail to MK. BIG MISTAKE. It probably took at least twice if not 3 times as long as if we just waited for the next FW boat. Ohwell! So point to point, sure, take the monorail. If you are bussing/boating to the monorail and expect it to save you time over a direct route, don't do it.

Thanks for letting me know, and for putting to rest ANY thought of taking that "tempting" empty Epcot bus in lieu of waiting!

We were there in Sept 06 and did the same thing with a couple other families. What a mess! Definitely not the fastest or most convenient way to go but it got us out of the never ending que in blistering heat and in to the AC.
