Quick tutorial on WDW transportation please!

I need a quick tutorial on WDW bus transportation! I tried to search, but couldn't come up with anything

I am heading to WDW next week with DD17 and her dance team. We will be using Disney transportation....when we go as a family, we always have a rental car, so the busses are new to me.

We are staying at Caribbean Beach resort, so I know the busses run to all the parks from there, but what if we need to get from CBR to another resort? Should we take a bus to the nearest park, then switch to the appropriate resort bus? We have character breakfast at the Beach Club, so I think we can take the bus to Epcot then walk from there.

What if we need to get from one park to another ~ say MK to Animal Kingdom or MGM? Do the busses transfer at Downtown Disney?

Ok - let me try:

You can get a bus from the CBR directly to the parks, water parks and downtown disney. The stops are clearly marked at the main bus areal.

From CBR to another resort via WDW transporation, generally yes - tale a bus to the nearest theme park and then bus, monorail or boat to theresort. Except in your beach club example - I would take the bus to MGM and then take a boat or walk to the beach club. Its much quicker and dosent' require a park ticket.

From park to park, depending on the park you can take a bus directly or via the TTC, or take a boat or monorial no need to go via a resort. None of the buses from DTD go to the theme parks. The bus stops are clearly marked and you "should" get a transportation guide when you check in.

I am usually a planning addict for trips, but this one is different since my DD and her team are in WDW for the Nationals dance competition. Another mom is doing all the planning for us ~ it's stressing me out!

She said we should take the bus to Epcot then walk to BC.....I forgot that we would need to go in Epcot to get to the BC area....hmmmm. I will need to check the opening time for Epcot now. I think our ADR is for 8:30?? I will suggest bussing to MGM then taking the boat or walking, although we are planning on going to Epcot that day anyway.

Do the busses go to the TTC when they take you to MK, then monorail or ferry over to MK, or do they drop you right at the entrance of MK? Would it be possible to take a bus from CBR to the TTC (MK bus) then switch to another resort bus from there?

From the resorts, the MK bus drops you off right at the MK turnstyles, not TCC. From other parks, the busses drop you off at the TTC. And yes, you could take a bus from CBR to MK and then walk over to the appropriate bus stop for the other resort.

What time is your ADR at the BC?

If it is more than an hour before MGM opens, be out at the CBR bus stop 45 minutes before your ADR. Get on the MGM bus and tell the driver you need to get to the BC for breakfast. After he drops off guests at MGM, he will take you to the BC.

Now this only works while the busses are on their BREAKFAST route. Once the busses start their regular route (one hour before park opens), you will not be able to get dropped off at the BC. You would need to take a bus to MGM and then boat to the BC.

No all the WDW Resort buses go direcly to the MK - not the TTC. You could still take a bus to MK and grab a bus from MK to any resort. However from CBR to the MK back to BCYC would be taking one of the longest routes possible

Honestly though to the Beach Club the best way is a bus to MGM because the CBR is closer to Epcot/MGM. You are dropped off outside the gates of MGM, just turn around and walk or take the boat to the Beach Club.

If it were not for needing to walk through Epcot your friend would be correct that Epoct on paper is quicker. Not to mention that for an early ADR Epcot may not be open yet. Regardless of how you got there you can still take the boat or walk to Epcot after breakfast.

OTOH - I would probably spend $15.00 and grab a cab from CBR to BCYC!

Ok maybe a cab is not a good idea! Don't worry you will get a transportation guide when you check in to the resort.

If there are 28 of you going at the same time, you might want to talk to the lobby concierge a couple of days ahead of time. I recall reading that WDW guests have arranged for "custom" WDW transportation under such circumstances, although I've never done so myself.

Yes you can take a bus from park to park. Have done it many time from AK to EPCOT, DS, and MK. They did not stop at the TTC on our trips.

Alright - what I am about to post is unofficial. You probably want to igore it, and stick to the good advice you have gotten from others. In particular, I think the official way to go is the MGM bus with drop off at Beach Club.

That said, if you want to know Disney's best kept *transportation* secret...

For many people, the CBR is in walking distance to MGM/Ecpot/Ecpot Resorts. There is actually a sidewalk that goes all the way from the CBR to the MGM/Epcot area. However, for whatever reason (the cynic in me thinks it to keep the differential between Deluxe and Moderate resorts) it doesn't connet into CBR. You have to cross of about 20 yards of grass between the Aruba parking lot and the intersection of Victroy and Buena Vista. It's about 1 to 1 1/2 miles from most parts of CBR to either MGM or Ecpot. If the weather is nice, it's something to consider.
