You'd think with all th walking we did, we wouldn't have gained any weight. Here's why I gained 10lbs in one week:

1900 Park Fare Character Dinner at the GF

Great buffet! I almost forgot to try the Stawberry Soup and was stuffed to the gills, when I saw a woman sit down next to us with some. Didn't stop me though! It is out of this world!

Wonderful character interaction! Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla were all there.

Boma

Outstanding! We all loved this place! If you don't like your food with a hint of sweetness, this isn't the place for you.

The Carrot and Ginger soup was awesome - as were the Zebra Domes!

Restaurant Marrakesh

Probably my worst meal at WDW.

I got the Mediterranean Seafood Platter and it didn't do much for me. My Harira Soup appetizer tasted like Campbell's Soup. DD liked her Roast Lamb Meshoui and DH got the beef Shish Kebab and liked it as well. Both of them got the Bastilla as appetizers and said they were okay. None of us cared for our desserts.

To me, this restaurant is nothing special and will skip it in the future.

Whispering Canyon Cafe

Great food, funny service.

I got the All You Can Eat skillet and didn't eat half of it, much less get seconds! It was good, but I've had much better ribs here in Houston. DH got the New York Strip steak and thought it was very good. DD got the Grouper and liked it as well. The desserts were all very good.

Sci-Fi Dine In

I started my meal off with the BLT soup. Big mistake - it was a meal in itself! DH got the onion rings and DD got the Artichoke Dip as an appetizer.

For our entrees, I got the Vegetable Potato Bake, which was good. I love grilled vegetables, but DD managed to nab my portobello mushroom and I never got to taste it. DH got the BBQ Baby Back Ribs and thought they were good. DD got the Shrimp Penne Pasta and liked it as well.

None of us ate our desserts. We had them boxed up and brought back to the hotel room, where they sat in the fridge and eventually ended up in the trash.

Le Cellier

Once again, my best meal at WDW. This place is outstanding, IMO.

For appetizers we got, Asian Shrimp Cocktail, Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, and Grilled Beef Tenderloin Kabob. All were excellent!

For our entrees, we got 14 oz. New York Strip Steak, Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon, and the 7 oz. Filet Mignon. All but the strip steak were awesome, but we ordered two of them rare and should have gotten them cooked medium rare. Even though the strip steak was ordered rare, it was still tough.

For dessert, we all shared the Creme Brulee, the Raspberry Sorbet and the Whiskey Cake.

Hollywood and Vine

For our Fantasmic Dinner, we ate at this buffet. It was okay - just a plain ol' buffet. I was shocked to see the dessert area, with bunches of empty platters. The service in that area was lacking.

I'd be happy to answer any questions!

:thumbsup2 thanks for the reviews! I wanted to try 1900 Park Faire but talked myself out of it....now I may have to put it back on my list. :confused3

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

I'm concerned with weight gain while we are there! We are eating @ Park Fare, Boma, Sci Fi, WCC, Biergarten, Chefs de France, Garden Grill, Chef Mickey's, Tony's, MM, and doing Spirit of Aloha. Maybe I should only pack elastic pants!! Did you drive or fly from Houston? We are driving from Katy in May.

We drove and it was so funny to see all the Texas plates on the road there. I swear, there were times that that's all there were, and we were in Florida!

I used to live in Destin, so we drove there the first night down to WDW, but drove straight back yesterday. We left at around 5:30am and got home at 7pm. It really wasn't too bad of a drive.

As for the pants... forget the elastic! Wear suspenders! :lmao:

Thanks for the reviews - I'm adding more and more restaurants to my "wish" list as my window for booking our ADR's gets closer! :teeth: Pretty soon there will be more eateries on the list than days we'll actually be there! :rotfl:

WCC, Sci-Fi, Le Cellier he we come! :goodvibes

Thanks for the reviews.

Sorry to hear about the problem with desserts at Hollywood & Vine - the desserts were our favorite part of the buffet there.

We've never been to 1900 Park Faire, but we may have to make a special trip just for the strawberry soup.

Trust me, I didn't need the desserts! As it is, I'm practically being rolled around!

We are driving straight thru on our way there. Goal is to leave Houston by 4:30am (dh is used to getting up that early) and hope to be at WL by 8:00pm! On our return we are spending 2 nights at Ft Walton Beach! This is our first driving trip from Houston to WDW. We have only lived here a year and a half. Our last trip we drove from Chicago, so this is about 4 hours less!
Trying to become good Texans we bought an Expedition (w/ DVD player :cheer2: )

Thanks for sharing your reviews!!! Soooo did you have to wait long to get into Le Cellier? ;)
We have an ADR there this May, on a Friday night, which happens to be EMH at Epcot. I am wondering if I should change it to a different night.

We actually checked into every restaurant we had ADR's for, and got in early each time. :thumbsup2

Can I make one suggestion? Stay in Destin if you can. It's only ten minutes down Hwy 98. I used to live there, and would be happy to help you find a place to stay. (Ft. Walton is nice, but IMO Destin is nicer and more family-friendly.)

We were on the road by 5:30am in Orlando and got back to Spring by 7pm. Not bad! We stopped to eat a Burger King for a quick lunch, but other than that, we were in the car.

We have a Pathfinder with a DVD player. It was wonderful for my seven year old!

We are using Hilton points for our stay there and FWB hotel is on the beach. The 2 in Destin you have to cross the street. I might be able to switch to the Embassy Suites in Destin, but currently there are no rooms available using points. Thanks for the tips!!
