We took our teenage sons on a 3 week trip to Europe and spent two nights at the Disneyland Hotel. It was beautiful and reminded me so much of The Grand Floridian. We stayed on DVC points. The rooms had two standard beds that were very comfortable. Because my sons don't like to sleep together we requested a rollaway bed which they promptly brought to the room and set up next to the window. All the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. I loved the bathroom that was tastefully done. The shower tile was the dancing hippos from Fantasia. There was also a beautiful mirror with the seven Dwarfs carved in around the edging. We only had one day to spend at the parks. We entered the Disneyland Park at opening and easily toured it. So many things were closed for refurbishment that we didn't have any problems seeing everything. Warning-Space Mountain goes upside down and is not smooth at all! The Haunted Mansion was a favorite. It has a different story line and is also different look on the outside. I also loved It's a small world. The evening fireworks are not to be missed! We only rode two rides at the other park. The theming and details throughout the parks were wonderful! We enjoyed our stay very much. If anyone asks questions feel free to ask!

Thank you very much for the report - nice to read positive review, in spite of closings etc.

We are going to be in the parks in July, and also be staying in Disneyland hotel with my 17 yo daughter.

If you don't mind sharing, - what were the dates you were there? I am a little worried about crowds. Did you have troubles getting fast passes? Or using the one they give in Disneyland hotel?

And about parade and fireworks - how bad were the crowds there?

Thank you!

We stayed May 26 and 27th. I forgot to mention in my post that free breakfast comes with your reservation at the hotel. It was wonderful. It is a huge buffet that filled up my teen boys for several hours. It was the last days of the low season hours and pricing. During check-in i mentioned that we only had time to go to the parks on one day even though we were spending two nights. Because of this they gave me two days worth of fast passes to use on our one park day which was very nice. I didn't end up even needing them in DLP. I did use them on the Crush Coaster in the other park. We arrived at rope drop which I would recommend doing especially since your crowds will be larger. The crowds were large for the fireworks. We stood outside of Casey's which was a great spot. Don't miss the fireworks, and stand were you can see the castle because they project a lot of video onto the castle. I would try to get there early. Also go into the bottom of the castle, the dragon is not to be missed! Hope this answered your questions, if you have any others just ask.

How did you use your fast passes on Crush's Coaster? It doesn't have a fast pass line. Do you mean another ride maybe??

It must have been Ratatuii then? I know i used them on something in that park.
