Park hopping on Tuesday.
Cast: Betsy, 41 y/o looking for pixie dust and Mom, 72 y/o young at heart!
With exercise out of the way, we went first to MGM, to catch the Indiana Jones stunt show. Got in, but it was full...I am so spoiled by the lack of people in January...and I know that it still was not considered "crowded" this trip. Am prepared for May to be worse...but focus then will be on the race. Enjoyed the antics of the stunt performers.
Then, hopped to AK because I wanted Mom to see Devine. We took it nice and easy at AK...spent more time than usual on the trails around the Tree of Life, really looking at the animal carvings...it is so amazing! Saw Devine, then went to see Tarzan Rocks! I've said it before...Tarzan does rock!
Fun show. Cracked up when the lady in front of us reached over to make sure her husband got a picture of Tarzan when he came out on stage in that little loincloth! mmm, mmm!
Tried to go on Dinosaur, but it was down. Too bad, 'cause it'll be in rehab in May when I'm there. So, I had $2 to burn, and played "whack a pachycephalosaurus" (like whack a mole arcade game). Didn't win, but a little kid next to me did (well, his dad did), so that was fun to see.
Then lunch at the Flame tree BBQ...yummy! $18.18 for the two of us...more food than we needed. Note: when you order the sandwich, you get beans and corn on the cob. I didn't realize that, and ordered fries to go with my sandwich. too much food!
As we were eating, some excitement happened. There was a mama duck walking around with 4 little fuzzy ducklings. Everyone was watching, and oohing and aahing. Then one of the babies fell under the metal grating that they have around the bottoms of the trees. There was just that one place that was wide enough for it to fall in! A couple of girls saw it, and tried to get him out, but no luck. I saw a CM and told him, so he could call maintenance or the vets. Within just a few minutes, there were about 5 or 6 CM's there, and I think at least one of them was one of the vets, or at least an upper level CM (not in "costume"). It took a while, and I know they would have pulled up the grating if they had to, but they got that baby duck out of there and returned it to it's mom. yay!! I was glad to see the quick response of the AK staff.
Dinosaur was still down, so we went to the Dawa bar, and had drinks, watched the acrobats, and then the JJ parade (my favorite parade since Tapestry of Nations). Got some hugs from characters as the parade went by.
Then back to MGM...played WWTBAM...I think Mom enjoyed that! The hot seat guy got to the $125000 question, but missed it and got the $32000 prizes.
Then...more hopping to MK for Wishes!!
