Well, DD8 and I just got back from a quick trip to WDW. Crazy, but she had time off school and I got an airfare deal. :)

We did a lot more park-hopping on this trip than ever before. With just a few days, DD decided that she wanted to ride all of her favorite rides at each park instead of staying at one park all day. I was surprised, but she chose to start at MGM (TOT, RNRR) instead of MK. I also scheduled Breakfastosaurus for one day (it's her favorite) so we got to do EE before breakfast. Very cool ride!

A few observations.....

Breakfastosaurus and Cape May Cafe breakfasts were great. Excellent character interaction, great service, no rushing, yummy food.

How is it that I get behind the wrong people in every information/help line? It became a running joke, really. I got behind the group of 6 teenagers who wanted to make an ADR at 5:30 for a 6:00 meal and just could not decide on anything. I got behind the woman who brought her family (including 2 small girls all dressed in princess costumes - very cute, actually) to the park and was now insisting to Guest Relations that she needed to be escorted to the meal and did not need to pay for park entrance. Picking up my DDE temporary card, I have no idea what the people ahead of me were trying to do since I couldn't hear, but I think they were trying for a hostile takeover of some large corporation because whatever they wanted took over half an hour! If anyone ever travels with me, I suggest YOU be the one to get on line because my line-luck just stinks. :rotfl2:

CMs were pleasant, friendly, and helpful across the board.

I was disappointed that the laser guns in Buzz Lightyear hadn't been changed to guns like the ones at DL - on a wire/tether so you can pick them up and aim anywhere. Not a big deal - I still love that ride - but I'd been told that the change would be finished by then. I'd still ride that over and over, but I do look forward to the change if/when it happens.

We did skip the longer lines to meet characters, but those we did meet were really great with DD. The street characters in MGM were really fun - DD liked Gabby Chatham (gossip columnist) and Officer William Club (policeman) and had fun chatting with both. Hopefully she'll feel mroe comfortable talking to them all next time. :teeth:

Did way too much pin trading. OK, that's not possible, but we did a lot. I will warn anyone going that it's difficult to find CMs who don't already have one of those 2000 pins on their lanyard. Someone must be selling big lots of those or something. ;)

We tried a water park for the first time and it was great. We went to Blizzard Beach and except for it being chilly at first and the park's hot chocolate being truly awful, we had a ball. I think DD could spend hours in the big kids play area, but we also enjoyed the slides. She decided she wasn't ready for the really big one, but someday.....

All in all, I'm glad we went. Nice cool weather and a whole lot of fun. :cloud9:

How cool that you were able to take a few days and go with your dd. I would love to do something like that. I once asked my dd's if they had to plan, what they would do different. They said they would sleep all morning and then go the parks all afternoon and late into the nite. (Yikes)!

Sounds like a great trip! The Cape May Cafe is my favorite character breakfast, even if they don't serve roast beef hash anymore.

Thanks for posting.

On our trip a couple of weeks ago, my kids voted to start with MGM also. They just love TOT!!

We're leaving tomorrow :sad1: but have our final meal at Cape May in the morning, so we're excited about that. We've had a wonderful 6 days at BWI - thanks in part to many suggestions from disboards - hope to post a trip report soon!

We love Donalds and it is a must do each visit. Even if it is just hubby and me. thanks so much for your report and reminding me it is TIME TO GO BACK.. The DDE is a great deal and we saved alot of money and plan on saving more with it......
