Okay, I'm finally ready to type out a few thoughts and observations from my quick trip last week, so here it goes:
- I had a nice stay at All-Star Music though my room was so far from the front. Transportation worked really well though most runs were sharing with the other All-Stars. There is a delicious Moana cupcake in the cafe that is exclusive to the resort so check it out if you are there (it's POG flavored - Passionfruit-Orange-Guava - or "Jungle Juice" at Tusker House).
- Crowds weren't too bad though I did rope drop to Slinky Dog and it was a madhouse! I think because you can't spread out as much like you can at AK it makes it feel more hectic.
- I scored a FP for Flight of Passage on the bus ride from Epcot to AK! Yay!
- The new version of Rivers of Light is not as good as the original - it's still nice but feels disjointed now.
- I really enjoyed going back to Blizzard Beach for the first time in a while. There is something about the water parks where people are extra-friendly. I had lots of great conversations, mostly with people from outside the US, and really enjoyed my time there.
- I posted in the VAH thread, but I found the After Hours event to be worthwhile, mostly for that amazing show! Crowds were okay, though some lines were underestimated. Still, I feel I got my money's worth, though the soda could have been colder.
- I had one absolutely delightful experience: before VAH I had a little time to kill so I rode a boat over to Fort Wilderness to check that out. I walked around a little, but then wanted to go to Wilderness Lodge. I go back to the dock and I am the only one in line. My boat captain, Marty, welcomed me aboard for a private cruise. As if that wasn't enough, he then proceeded to sing to me over the PA for the entire way! It was very special. As I left the boat I told Marty that he made me feel like a VIP. He says to me, "You are a VIP, sir." That's just a wonderful experience that you just can't plan. It made the trip!
