Has anyone looked into the difference between booking the QS Dining Plan vs. the Full Dining Plan (not special)? I just booked my 7 night stay with the new package discount and it looks like the price difference in the two dining options is only $260 for five people (3 adults, 2 kids). I was thinking we would just use quick svc. with snacks, and just pay cash for the couple nights we may want to order from the menu. Looking at the price of one buffet night at Cape May, for example, or just a sit down breakfast at Crystal Palace, it seems the full plan is a better deal. Only drawback I've found last 2 times we went was the meal selection for kids. My kids are not happy with the options. Has anyone found this price point to be different? Thanks.:worship:

Hi. I'm working out the math on that tonight. We have a list of the TS/character meals we want to eat at, then we're going to assume around $8 per meal for CS. I'll stop back tomorrow and tell you what I came up with - I have 5 character meals for the 10 days we're going, and we're going to eat all other breakfast in our room (we have a family suite) . So that leaves lunches and dinners. However, we do plan on doing some late breakfasts and/or early dinners, so that will essentially only take up 2 meals on that day. That's why I have to do the math!! :confused3

Don't forget to include the OOP tips that you will be paying at the TS restaurants. We were on the DxDDP this past Sept and spent over $500.00 in just tips for the three of us.:scared1: With the CS plan you won't have the tips.

It's extremely possible (although I don't have any source) that the QuickService plan was instituted due to the numerous Dining Plan participants who either can't or don't want to eat at Table Service restaurants and so are repeatedly asking to or if they can convert TS credits to CS credits - not just here on the DIS, although it's a frequent question, but also in real life.

I have done the "regular" dining plan several times and I am so happy to have a choice now between that and the counter service plan. It just works out so much better for my family to have the CS plan. My 10 old is charged as an adult but taking her to all those TS's wasnt worth it. We plan on making breakfast our biggest meal and then winging the rest of the day and letting everyone eat whatever cs they want. Plus they throw the mugs in, that's a nice touch....and its not hamburgers and hotdogs, which is very nice!!

We have done the regular DDP and have opted to do the DDQuickS 2009
maybe this will give us more flexibility & time in the parks

We've done the regular DDP the past two times. It was fine when I went alone, but with the family, I felt like our days revolved around food! This trip (January) DH and I have opted for the Quick Service plan. The two meals and two snacks is more than enough food and we get the mugs included. It's only something like $120 difference, but we think it's a better choice for the way we tour the parks.
