Over the years, I have had the opportunity to use both plans and would like to hear your opinions. Personally, based off of my families usage, I prefer the Quick Service Plan. I don't want to say that I am completely disappointed in table service at Disney, I was just more impressed with their counter service offerings. All opinions welcomed!

We used the DDP on both of our previous trips. This time we are doing DXDP.

We do like to have at least one sit down meal a day. 10 - 14 days of just eating fast food was not for us. Of course, I have to say, there are far more CS options than we envisaged, so, it wouldn't have been the problem we thought it would.

This time, making time to sit down and rest and make eating an enjoyable break is even more important.

Other families need different things though.

I've been on quick service, regular and deluxe. The QS worked extremely well for the trip we were on. It was a short 4 night trip during the Food & Wine Festival. At that time, you got 2 snacks and 2 QS meals. We used a lot of our snack credits at the F&WF and really felt we got our money's worth. We stayed at Coronado Springs and our QS meals there felt almost like table service. It was a wonderful trip.

The deluxe plan was loads of fun to use. We had a signature meal every day. After three trips with the regular trip, it was great having a whole new set of restaurants to choose from.

Our last trip and the next one, we are at the Swan where you can't get a dining plan. It is nice to not be tied down to ADRs every day. Plus I don't want or need a sit down meal every day.

Recently, a nice poster here brought it to my attention that Orlando is having an event similar to Restaurant Week in NY during the time of my visit. Blue Zoo and Il Mulino are participating as well as some Disney restaurants like Jiko and the Grand Floridian. I can hardly wait to see the menus. I've been wanting to go to Blue Zoo and this may be a great opportunity to try it.

If you are happy with the QS options they why not stick with the cheaper plan. My family likes to sit down and enjoy one TS meal per day so we prefer the regular plan. As someone else mentioned it is all a matter of personal opinion.

It's gotten harder and harder to make the QSDP worth the money. If you're going this year, if you allow $5 per snack, each QS meal (entrée and drink only) needs to "cost" you $19 just to break even. 2018 that per meal cost goes up to $21. However, they will then also allow you to get an alcoholic drink with each meal, so if that's your thing, it will be a little easier to break even.

In our experience, it's easier to get our money's worth with the regular plan. The average you need to achieve at the quick service is lower. The way we calculate how much we need to average is this for adults:

- QS: $19 per meal, and $5 per snack.

- RDDP: $17 QS meal, $42 TS meal, $5 per snack

With that being said, we will be using the QS in a couple of weeks. With a bit of planning, we were able to come out ahead on our meals. You just need to plan the restaurants and search the menus before hand. Also, if you have kids 3-9, the family average may improve, as some of the kids meals go well beyond the average for their price range.

I do feel that it's not advantageous to use the QS credit at the resort. It's hard to reach the average there. Specially with the unlimited mug refill, meals at the resort are probably best if paid out-of-pocket. Best to use the QS credits at the parks.

We did quick service on our first trip and would never do it again but it depends on your own preferences. My sister is a very fussy eater and a vegetarian so for us there are better options with the table service
