Quick service credits on Disney dining plan?

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) staying for 6 nights. We've bought the Disney Dining Plan and will be enjoying one table service meal each day. We know from the literature that at table service kids must order from the kids menu.

My question is does the same hold true for quick service credits? Do we have 12 quick service adult items and 12 service kids items? My kids are young and not big eaters so we plan on having them share to stretch out our meals. Not sure if I will have a headache teacking how many are kids and how many are adult quick service meals or if I just have 24 quick service meals for our family to use during our stay.

Unless something recently changed there is no way to track if you used a quick serve on an adult meal or a kids meal. Further I believe they changed the policy and now allow kids to order a quick serve from the adult menu.

Some additional information. Last year in August I had a chat with a cast member on the changes implemented to dining plan and they advised me under the quick serve with the regular dining plan (DDP) children can also order from the adult menu. Granted cast member at times don't always provide the most accurate information. I saved the chat though as reference.

No problem at all. Glad I could help. I know we have never had an issue ordering a quick serve from the adult menu for our youngest. He is now a Disney adult so it doesn't affect us any longer.

Things could have changed though and perhaps they can better track the quick serve credits but I doubt it.

Maximize your quick serves by doing lunch at Be Our Guest (if you can get a reservation) and/or at Wolfgang Puck Express in Downton DISNEY (I don't embrace the new name.....lol)

In regards to stretching credits, we do this all of the time. Some of us like breakfast, some not so much. Others want a full meal at lunchtime, but others do not. Even though we are usually a big group and split off at times, we will tend to dine together, so we oftentimes split a meal between two of us. It is plenty for us and we can then have three meals a day paid for, and we are not tossing food out, which drives my DH crazy.

Look at the menus on allears.net. We have found that there ae a lot of QS restaurants that not only serve good food, but have generous portions. We like dessert on vacation, so if a few of us are shaing meals, there is plenty of desserts to share without all of us rolling out in a sugar coma.

On each dining receipt that you get, even snacks, it will tell you what you have left as far as credits.

Thank you. And it just displays #quick serve as a whole, not broken up by adult and kids, correct? The example in the Disney dining plan literature that o round last night has it broken up. Hope they didn't change it. We were hoping to share our credits among ourselves as we wanted and not be tied to kids meals.

I remember that wen my DGD was under 10, she ordered from the childen's menu. I knew that if I wanted her to have an adult meal I could have simply just order 2 adult meals, but she liked the kids options so no need to try to circumvent the rules. I have read that since the new "flexibility updates" to the plan most CS Restaurants do not worry about who ordered what and that the option is okay. As in so many areas of Disney vacationing, what is written in the brouchures and policies is not necessarily the reality. Enjoy your trip!

We simply send one parent up to order for us to keep it simple, while the rest of the party finds a spot and settles in
