We went to Disneyland last weekend from 1/18th to 1/21 from my son's 2nd birthday on 21st.
We flew in from Colorado.
Good:
-We got a room that had a partial view of the parks and we were able to see fireworks from our room.
-We went to all the hotel buffets with characters for my sons birthday. All the character were soo kind to my son. He was a little bit scared and they would play games with him like hi fives and peek a boo to open him up. The food was good a the buffets too and looved we did not have to pay for him.
-We navigate the crowds well, it was great to take advantage of the magic hour and then we used the max pass. Wish more rides had it.
-Also loved that maxpass was tied with photos, we got so many great photos of the family.
-It was great having the hotel near by for my son to nap and relax at the hotel.
-Looved the Toonplay area (wish they made it bigger) and the Redwood Trail area was amazing!! That has to be one of my fav play areas for kids. My son could spend hours there.
-Carsland area is the most amazing area!! We were able to take advantage of the magic hour and my son was able to ride the little kids rides there multiple times!!
- It was cool riding rides, that they do not have at WDW like Indian Jones ride or Guardians of the Galaxy ride, soo much fun. Really love these rides.
- We got a mickey balloon on the first day made it soo easy to find our stroller and find our group. It was a special one to, yellow with birthday confetti on it, my son loooved it.
-Looved having hopper pass, it is just so easy going back and forth between the two parks.
-Ohh also looved that my son was free and he just kept oohing and ahhing over everything. Soo much giggling.
Bad:
-I understand Disneyland Hotel needs renovations, but they should allow us to use California Hotel for the pool. Paradise pier is not the same category and is farther away. I missed not having the hot tub
-Hated that there was very few nighttime show options. We tried to watch fireworks inside the park but was too crowded so we watched it from the plaza area between the two parks.
-Hated that the castle was under reconstruction, wish they waited one more weekend, since it was a holiday weekend and very popular still.
-I would love if Disneyland did what WDW does with Dumbo, we were not able to do it during magic hour and we waited in a very, very long line.
Overall had a great birthday weekend with my family. It will be a while till we get to Disneyland again so wished less things were under constructions since we booked this back in August we did not know about any of that.
