Quick Rent @ National-MCO..pros/cons???

I have always used National when I flew into Orlando, but I always used the counter.

This time I am thinking of using Quick Rent.
Anyone have any experience with this? Is it pretty painless?
Does it really save a lot of time?

It's quite easy and painless!! You just walk to the garage, go to the row for the specific car you rented (compact, mid, full, etc.), pick your car and head to the exit. It's that's simple .. when you exit you tell the employee that you did a Quick rent , he does your paper work in 2 minutes and off you go!!!

You cannot use coupons with Quick rent.

I have booked with National for the first time at MCO on May 28 to June 2. I booked with a military rate for a mid-size at $120. What is quick rate? Could I use it? What papers would I need? Also could I apply an entertainment coupon to this rental? If anyone can answer these questions, I would appreciate it. Thanks

I repeat, you cannot use coupns with quick rent. Go to the Naitonal website and click on quick rent then on the link that explains it all.

Or just sign up for Emerald Club and use Emerald Isle. Very similar to quickrent and you can use $$ off coupons from the Entertainment Book or other places.

mgilmer - I don't travel enough to qualify for Emerald Club. I did try to join over the phone when I made my reservation.

GAIL HAYDEN - I just wanted some info on Quick Rent to see if I could use it. I understand I cannot use a coupon if I use Quick Rent. I was just curious if I could use a coupon if I use a BJ or military discount and not go the Quick Rent route. I am not really good on cruising the internet and thought I could get some answers here. Thanks.

suevee - if you go to www.mousesavers.com and look in the rental car section for national, there is a link to join emerald club for free

and yes you can usually use a coupon with most contract id's.

I appeared that you were asking if you could use Quick rent with the entertainment coupon.

And, you do qualify for Emerald Club, anyone does. You would not qualify for some of the other programs that enhances the EC membership.

I've been reading Mousesavers and also looking on this thread and wondered if you could clarify something for me. I have made a reservation using Emerald reserve for an SUV with a contract ID code. When I try to enter my Entertainment coupon it changes my reservation to counter. Can I keep my original Emerald Reserve and bring the coupon to the window or do I need to reserve with the coupon through the website.

You should be able to use the coupon with the reserve reservation. Make the reservation and call National and ask them to switch from the counter to the reserve aisle. BTW, did you try switching it yourself? Sometimes if you click on the window beside the counter box it lets you choose.
They are, however, very nice about switching from counter to reserve.
BTW if this is an upgrade coupon, you will have to use the counter.

Hi Gail - I did try changing it myself, but I kept getting an error. It isn't an upgrade coupon, it is a $20 off for weekly rental, so I will try calling National. Thanks for your help!

What happens if you try to make a new reservation? If you are trying to modify an existing one sometimes that feature gets flakey.

I think I will try it again. I know what you mean about the site, sometimes everythings works nicely and other times you can try to do something on it over and over and it flakes out. I'll clear my cookies and try it again.

Success!! I was able to use the $20 Entertainment coupon and the Priceless vacation contract ID with Emerald Reserve and it worked! Persistence pays off!!
