Quick questions about shoes at the theme parks

I am planning my first trip to Disney in Aug (hot I know) and I am doing my research. I hear alot about crocs, tevas and others so I am going to try them all, but most amusement parks with rides around where I live do not allow open toed or back less shoes. Are the disney theme parks ok with this?????? That would be a great thing if so.

There are no shoe restrictions (other then having to wear them) that I am aware of.

I think when you ride Soarin' you leave your shoes on the floor if they do not have a back - so they don't fall off on someone when you are up in the air. But you come back down exactly in the same place and there they are.

You are not allowed to take your shoes off on things like Kali Rapids, so some people bring a pair of rubber flip flops to wear if they have tennis shoes they want to keep dry.

I was going to ask a similar question, so instead of creating a new thread - I will combine my question into this already existing forum. I purchased Athen Crocs, which I love! However, I have been hearing that it has been raining alot at the parks recently especially in the afternoon. I am going next Saturday to Animal Kingdom and I am still debating on if I should ear my Athens or Tennis Shoes. I need some assistance.

I have yet to wear my Crocs in the rain so I guess what I am saying is are they okay to wear in the rain? Are they slippery or anything in the rain? What would you suggest I wear to the park?

Crocs work great in the rain. I have treacherously slick tile floors at home and my Crocs are the only shoes I can wear when I mop that don't send me skidding.

Crocs at WDW sure sounds like more fun than Crocs in my kitchen.

I'm just testing out my new Athens also and got them very wet outside today by the pool. They were a bit slippery (not the sole but my foot slid around a bit on the footbed). They did dry rather quickly in the heat, but I too am worried about walking around in them during the rain.

Crocs were originally made as boat shoes so they are designed to be skid resistent and able to grip wet surfaces. I will say though that if your crocs are worn out on the soles they WILL slip like barefeet on a soapy floor, so be careful! (this is only when the treads have gone smooth though so it shouldn't be a problem unless your crocs are pretty old!)

Okay - I'll admit - I'm almost 60, and this was NOT an original idea. There's a kiosk right outside of Kali where flipflops are sold just for this reason. Leave it to Disney to figure out another way to make a few dollars. Can't remember what they cost but way more than the $2 at Walmart. I have thought about taking a pair of those disposable sandles like they use at the pedicure places. They would fold up really small.

I will be there is 11 days! I am planning on wearing my crocs, athens style and boat style. But, mostly athens style!
