Quick question re: changing ADR from 7 people to 6...

I know this is probably posted here somewhere, I just can't find it and I'm trying to find a quick answer.

I made ADR's for my family of 6 for most of our reservations, but on a few of them when we were expecting to have one more person join us, I made those days for 7 people. The person who was going to meet us, is unable to come now.

Originally when I called to make the reservations I asked the CM if I should make it for 6 or 7 not knowing if the extra person could for sure make it or not... she suggested I make it for 7 and then call and cancel the extra seat if she couldn't come.

I've read here and there that people going from say 6 to 4 person reservations were told that they had to book an entireley new reservation - this could be old information.... I'm just wondering if anyone has had this experience recently? Did you call and just cancel the extra seat or did you have to try to re-book that table?

You'd have to rebook the table. Just leave it as it is, and show up with one less.

Yep. The previous poster is right. You have to rebook them and they likely won't be available. Just leave things as is and correct the number at the podium when you check in, letting them know #7 wasn't able to make it.

Thats what I would do, its just one person, not like the table size would really change.

Thanks! I'll just leave the reservations as they are and show up one less person - it's only 2 out of the 15 reservations we have, so I don't feel too terrible. If it changed the table size in a big way, I'd try to change it so it wasn't taking space away from anyone else.

If anyone is too bent out of shape over it, they can join us at Akershus on 6/6 for breakfast, or Crystal Palace on 6/7 for breakfast. There's room for one person. LOL!
