Quick Question on Rooms(converting to package)

I currently have a room only reservation for a solo trip in November, and have an old ticket that I will be using. Has anyone had any luck, or know if it is possible to convert without upgrading to a annual pass(due to a likelihood I will relocate to the west coast soon after my travel plans)? My main concern is access to the dining package, and I have heard different things on this matter, and any input would be most appreciated.

Convert your room only to a ticketless package add a dining plan? Yes, that's possible.

Thank you. I have heard conflicting information. Not really trying to get free dining(not even sure that would apply anyway, even if I changed my dates), but more looking at trying to figure out if I would be better off with the dining plan or paying for meals out of pocket.

Yes you can call and and do a ticketless package which would be a room and dining plan.

Whether the dining plan is "worth it" is dependent on why you want the dining plan.
Convenience and knowing that you have prepaid? Go for it.
Do you plan on doing a number of TS meals and at those meals would you be getting alcoholic drinks and desserts? Go for it.
However if your plan is minimal TS meals and you don't care if you have an alcoholic drink and dessert with each TS meal and alcoholic drink with QS meals then money wise you may be ahead of the game to just pay OOP.

I tend to favor one, maybe two table meals a day and already have a few planned. I still have several months, and have a campsite booked(so free dining was never an option), but ultimately, this is more about cost analysis and some comfort in prepaying. I am also doing a cruise with NCL the week after as the second half of my vacation, and am taking a similar approach(looking at their dining plans) so it makes sense to consider Disney's as well.

After reading this I would suggest that you do get a dining plan and go with the deluxe plan if you are doing more than 1 table service each day or are doing any 2 credit meals.
Usually I don't recommend the deluxe but in your case I'm leaning towards it.

As a solo traveler, it gives me a chance for a break, but I am still waiting to find out if I will be there during Food & Wine or not(my travel dates are November 9-17). Regardless, because I have a six day ticket and an eight night stay, I do have some creative options that could work when it comes to dining. I will take a closer look at the plans and determine what I would need for my travel dates if I decide to go that route. I do know Be Our Guest, Sanaa, Jungle Skipper Canteen, Ale & Compass, and 1900 Park Fare(breakfast) are all on the menu, as it were.

You MIGHT squeak in the last couple days of F&W

Just wanted to mention that while you can change to a ticketless package, it's not as easy as just adding the DDP to your existing reservation. If you do make the change, your RO reservation will have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked, requiring a new $200 deposit. Since RO and packages are different reservation systems, money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other.

I knew they were different reservation systems, but am surprised nobody mentioned this part to me. Still, with all the moving parts I have for this vacation, and the likelihood I will be there during the final days of Food & Wine, it does seem to make sense to opt for a ticketless package with dining, just so I have peace of mind.

Probably F&W will run through 11/10 or 11/11. Small/tiny breath of a chance it will go through the 16th or 17th.

I was figuring it would be something like that, but I am also looking at breaking up the two week vacation into two vacations, and moving the Disney part to a bit earlier in the year so I can enjoy F&W and maybe MNSSHP(I much prefer Halloween to the holiday season). I realized I can save a little bit of money(on the Disney part) that way. It would also give me more options on how to use quick service credits(by way of conversion, as needed).
