Quick question on borrowing points

My use year is December, I have no points currently (2008), 15 points coming to me December 1st (my 2009 points), but want to plan a trip for June 2010. Do I have to wait until December 1st to book, or can I call now and borrow from my 2010 points?

Use Year has nothing to do with when you may make a reservation. Home Resort Reservations for June, 2010 have been accepted since July, 2009 and may be made as long as you will have enough points available for the dates of the reservation. You can make a June, 2010 reservation right now using the 15 points you will have from your 2009 Use Year and may borrow additional points from your 2010 Use Year - there is no need to wait until December 1.

Your points are already in your account. 2010 points, 2011 points, and on and on, are all in there. They are just not available for use until the appropriate use year rolls around. As the previous poster said, as long as the points will be available by the time you check in, you can make reservations at your home resort 11 months out.

There is alot of confusion on when points are "available". All your points are available, when you make a reservation they look at the use year the stay falls into. You can use that use year, banked from the use year before and borrow from the next use year. You never have to wait for your use year to start to make a reservation.
