Quick Question On 50's Prime Time

We were there in September of last year, and it was as fun a always....

We went less than a month ago, our server was great ( I did post on the other thread). I was worried when I found out things were toned down, but we had a wonderful time. I'd say at least try it once. :)

The thing is that they don't do this stuff at every table. Some people seem to think that if the table next to them was the center of attention (and they weren't) that their server sucked or the whole thing sucked.

Not every table will be the star of the show. You have to go into it expecting to be fed and take any extras as happy, special events.

Your post makes me want to repeat my post. We were a large group all the way in the back with just two other tables. The server at the next table was going for the big laughs and our server seemed like we were only the second family he had ever served. He was warm and friendly, but somewhat intimidated by the show at the next table. We didn't care, we were all together.

The server came back and offered us a trivia question - no cell phones - to name 20 animated Disney movies - we had a blast. He would come back to our table to refill sodas and we were he.. bent on getting that darn thing. By the way, we could only get 19.

I want referring to you or anyone else. Just a general trend I've noticed on boards.

Now I have to try...

Brave Little Toaster
Little Mermaid
Beauty / Beast
Aladdin
Lion King

Snow White
Cinderella
Sleeping Beauty
Fox and Hound
Bambi

A bug's life
Dumbo
Peter pan
Monsters inc
Dalmatians

Pocahontas
Jungle book
Aristocats
Oliver and co
Stitch!

(If Stitch wasn't, then Pinocchio!)

Yay!

That's 20!!!!

I didn't know if Roger Rabbit or Mary Poppins would count, but they're both half animated and should get half a point each. So, if the Toaster movie doesn't count, then those two could take its place.

What do I win?

(NOW I'M DONE. :))

The Brave Little Toaster answer gets you buzzed out, right off the bat.

I'm not done! It takes me a while if I'm not cheating!

...and is that not a Disney movie? I thought it was.

Still, not done.

I just looked on amazon. It has Disney above the title. It was released by Disney. So I think I should get credit for that. Let's go to the judges... ;)

I see

Lady and the Tramp
101 Dalmations

However, Robo, guess which one we didn't even get and we did have to look it up......it was during WWII.

I know you know it.

That is the one! Our server turned out to be a history major in college and told us the whole back story about it!

And, for those looking in, that film is the basis for the current
"Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros," attraction inside Epcot's Mexico Pavilion.

I'm going to disagree with "a bug's life" in the list though. It is part of the Pixar styling of films not the classic hand drawn style.("which is partly why tangled did not get an academy award, the other part was there were not enough entries)

We went to WCC later in our visit, and DID request an interactive server. DH was told they were all interactive. DH said "Well, we thought that at 50 PTC and had a bad experience." The lady told him "Honey, you're at Whispering Canyon NOW" and we did have a great experience there! Hope you get someone great on your trip!

We went to WCC twice as of late and had horrid service. Not just our servers not participating in any antics, but unable to get a refill or apps before the meal. However, it was a BLAST to watch the antics around us, and while I was a server, I might have thrown straws and napkins on tables kind of like WCC. We'll try it again, but we had a similar "off" experience at Ohana's ... I think I might just have too high of expectations on servers because I was one for 10 years.

I can say, as a server, that if you and your server don't mesh, you aren't going to have a great time. I've had tables love me, while the one next to me complained that I wasn't personable. I can make a brick wall tell you it's life story if I wanted to, but if a person is sitting like a lump on a log, it comes down to how hard I want to try. I'm not saying that's the case with servers at 50's or WCC, I just know being "on" all the time is hard.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Academy Awards group) doesn't distinguish between cel animation and computer-based animation in the Best Animated Feature category.

In fact, computer animated films have WON the category 8 out of the 10 times
that the award has been presented.

OK, I'm not hip to the ins and outs of this stuff.

If it has Disney's name above the title, I'm counting it. Disney's name above the title counts. Toaster and Bug's are both in. That is the rule (which I made up) so that's that.

;) :)

You are right my bad. Severs me right for rusting something I heard on the radio vs checking the facts myself.

We went to 50's Prime Time on our first trip as a family in 1994. We had the best server; she yelled at us for elbows on the table, yanked my hubby by the ear and made him stand in the corner, etc. We loved it. We went back a month ago, and had absolutely no "fun" interaction with our server, even though we tried. We were lucky to have drink refills. Did it ruin our meal? No, but we were a little disappointed.
