Quick question-MP3 player

My Dh is trying to talk me into getting one today for my Ds10.I thought I was done for him but DH is very persistant.I know nothing about these,are we talking BIG bucks???

you can find "entry level" mp3 players for under $100.

the most popular being the ipod shuffle for $99 (it's small though - only holds 150 songs I think)

you can find other ones for even less by iRiver, sony, etc..

You can get a creative 1 gig for 100 bucks, I just bought a Nuvo for just under 100 and it holds more than 150 songs, and doesnt need itunes!

Creative is just as good as ipod, just doesnt have the ipod name, we're a creative family, with a nomad big boy for me, and the DD's both have Nuvo 512's and the DBF just got his Nuvo 1 gig....
My big one is a year old, no problems battery still good, the DD's nuvo's are about 6 months old, and the nuvo 1 gig is a couple weeks old, and has fallen from a 70 foot bucket truck and still lived to play more music!

I have the Creative Zen Touch! (20 gig, 24 hour battery life - kick iPod's butt IMO) I've had this over a year, NEVER had a issues with it.

I have the 60 nomad...mine generally lasts all day in my car...suppose to be like a 14 hour continuous battery, but I sorta keep the volume up loud LOL...

I will say when I just bought the Nuvo, i had to call tech support- and they were WONDERFUL! After loading 3 into my computer you'd think I knew how...but I had to reformat the flash drive in this one...they were wonderful!...after about 10 minutes the guy said "I can just send you another one, so you get it by christmas and you can send that one back"..I declined, and we continued working and got it up and running! DBF has been changing batteries in his every day and a half, which is perfect since it said 18 hours on a AAA and he does have his volume up all the way so he can hear it over the chainsaw at work....(before ya tell me how unsafe that is, he only has 1 ear phone in...the other ear isnt listening to music...and he can still hear the guys yell if he needs too)

I'll NEVER buy an ipod of any sort, I'm actually glad that last year the X couldnt find one, and got the creative instead!

sorry to threadjack here...but I just went to the creative website...they ahve the "zen vision". WOOHOO!
the iPod with "photo" capabilites was the ONLY reason I was leaning toward an ipod...but now that creative makes one.
