Quick question about park hours and Wishes

HI everyone I am new and have a quick question. Just a few days ago we were given a free camping trip. The camping site has been paid for and we just have to show up. We have a camper and have camped at Ft. Wilderenss a few times. Since we live only 2 hours away we decided to go, we aren't going to any of the parks instead we are just hanging out at Ft. Wilderness with family and going to Chef MIckey's on Sat. I looked and saw that the MK is closing at 6 both Fri and Sat and there will be no Wishes on those night. Is that true? Why? My kids don't even know we are going there this weekend but I know they will be disappointed if they can't see the fireworks from the Contemporary. It is almost a tradition for when we camp but not go to the parks to just go sit in the parking lot of the Contemporary and watch Wisehs. We also ride the monorail around alot but the fireworks are thei favorite part of our "cheap" weekends.

Can anyone tell me if I am wrong and if so what time Wishes will be?

This weekend is Nights of Joy, MK closes at 6pm AFAIK there is no foreworks, the stage is in front of the castle.

Thank you so much for your quick reply, I am sure the kids will get over not seeing the fireworks. Does anyone know of anywhere else you can see fireworks from a resort? Like I said we aren't going to any parks but since we are staying at Ft. Wilderness we can get to other resorts. What about Downtown Disney we love it there are there any fireworks there?

Why not head to the boardwalk? Lots of entertainment, some free some not. You could rent a surry bike and do a few loops, get a face paint or a hair braid for a nominal fee or just grab some popcorn and enjoy the sights and sounds. You can see the fireworks from Illuminations at 9pm very will from the bridge between epcot and the boardwalk. Its a great walk with some playgrounds at BW and S/D and we love to eat ouside at the brewing company.

ETA - grabbing a yummy pizza from spoodles take out and then doing the surry bike ride would be less than the cost of CM. No characters but my kids at 8 and 10 definately prefer this to being stuck in a restaurant. If they save their own money they are allowed to play the carni games if not- no dice. My dd is saving enough for a hair wrap for our next trip about 1.50 an inch plus beads. Just fYI.

If you head over to the Boardwalk and BC/YC area you can see some of Illuminations from the resort area. This would always be another option.
