Not sure if anyone can help me or not, I went the other day to join D23, and was kind of shocked at the price a little, was just curious if anyone knows if that is a lifetime membership, or is that a fee that is due every year. Thanks in advance for any and all help. :goodvibes

I'm fairly certain it is an annual membership. I remember people commenting they will not renew next year.

it is an annual subsciption. You get 4 quarterly magazine with subscription

We are D23 members, it is annual which I think the cost is worth it just for the magazines. The D23 extra events that supposedly are available are bogus. We have tried to get into every single one without luck, its a terrible setup.

I managed to get 3 of the events, so they're not bogus - but you have to treat it like getting Springsteen tickets - be ready a few minutes before they become available. I got to take a tour of the studio and archives ( Dave Smith was there to show us some special items ). For DL's birthday there was a special viewing of an old movie with Tony Baxter, Ed Holberman, and Bob Gurr as well as cupcakes and a reserved area for fireworks. And I got 4 free tickets to a preview of the Walt Disney Family Museum.

But: now the events seem to be changing - from free ( all of the above ) to charge - Princess & the Frog is $50 each, Candlelight Procession with dinner $275 each (ouch!!) - so I'll be waiting to see if this trend continues - the membership will be worth a lot less like this.

I have seen the goodies they include with the magazine ( 1 per issue ) on sale on ebay for lots -could pay for the membership.
It is annual.

Just curious...how much is it?

I can't join as I don't have an American postal address and theres no way I am paying the internation postage fees they charge.

I think it's a great deal. The magazine is more like a book, the extra gifts are great, and the events are wonderful if you can go. The Expo was a great experience and if this is the trend then it will only get better and better. I'd love to do the events, the cost is reasonable for the access IMO, but I live too far away. Still, they are doing great things for the Disney fans and are worth supporting. I was actually surprised the annual fee isn't higher.

What is included in the magazines?? Is it pictures of DL, etc?? Just curious if someone could give a little info without giving too much away. Thanks!!!:goodvibes

i personally feel the magazines are good quality and the little momentos are cool so far. I do agree however that the events are pretty steep. I almost purchased the 50.00 D23 Princess an the frog tickets at the expo.. Now facebook subcribers are getting a fee of 21.00 for the tickets!!!! and it's free to join facebook. This was a slap in the face if you ask me.

No kidding! I got discount tix from goldstar while there were still d23 tix available. Now they probably will do some special stuff for the d23 showing, but $50 each adds up fast for a family.

I don't like this trend....
As for the "goodies" - the last issue came with a cool patch with one of the 59 rides on it ( so people are spending money trying to fill in the collection ).
