Quick parking question, please?

The day we arrive at POP, we're heading to the Magic Kingdom and then leave for dinner at 1900 Park Fare at 7:10 p.m. We'll go back to the hotel to bed after that (we'll have had a very early start).

DH is thinking it would make the most sense to drive to GF and take the monorail and then drive back to POP from the restaurant after dinner.

Are non-resort guests permitted to park much in advance of their ADR? We're perfectly willing, of course, to pay for the parking! We would likely be parking the car at the GF around 11 or noon, and leaving the lot after dinner, as I said.

I think I've read that they don't have a lot of parking at GF, so I don't know if parking there that long will be an option. You can park for free at the MK lot though and take the Monorail from the GF to the TTC I think.

You won't be able to park at the GF for that long. Most of the resorts give a 3 hour time limit for parking. I'm not sure about GF (and in fact, I asked a similar question on a different thread, we'll be getting there around 6:30 and have an 8:00 ADR) but I would imagine if anything it would be LESS than the typical 3 hour limit.

One good piece of advice I received on that thread was to take the boat from MK since the GF is the first stop in that direction. It's the last stop on the monorail from that direction.

But I would agree with PP that you should park at the TTC.

You may not park for a long time at a resort (other than yours) while you go to a park or do other activities not at that resort.

Generally you are given a three hour parking pass even if you are staying (elsewhere) on site.

At GF, just pull up to to the valet, say you are here for dinner, and they will park your car. Return whenever you want.

Ok, thanks, I appreciate the answers - arriving mid-day, I'm not sure parking at the TTC would be very advantageous for us, so maybe we will just bus it after all.

Also, you know resort guests don't pay to park, right?

This is what I was going to suggest. I don't believe they put the 3 hour limit on valet'd cars (though during super busy times they may), so if you're willing to pay for parking, I would go that route.

It's also a heck of a walk from the GF self-parking lot to the GF anyway.

I believe I remember something about free valet parking if you have the Tables in Wonderland card... can anyone verify that? We'll probably only be at the GF for 3 hours when we go but it'd be nice not to rush if we don't have to.

I believe you have to show a receipt that you ate there in order to get free parking with the TIW card.

You do still have to tip the drivers regardless.
