I can't find this anywhere so I'm beginning to think I made it up but... I remember reading a dining report where someone mentioned using some kind of quick order touch screen system at counter service restaurants, sort of like at Sheetz? I think specificially it was Pecos Bill's. Am I making this up?

If I'm not losing my mind, what other counter service restaurants offer this service? Thanks in advance :worship:

You are not crazy....I read that food trip report too! Sorry, but I don't know the answer to your question, but I just didn't want you to think you were losing it!!

The touch screen kiosks are definitely at Peco's Bill's. We used them in Dec. They were easy enough, but I don't think it was any faster than a regular line. The best part was after you order, there was no barriers to keep you lined up to the counter. We moved right to the counter, but our order still took a while to show up. At least it made it feel less crowded.

I'm all for any way to reduce the amount of human interaction, so it's a plus for me!

Thanks for the info! I'm also a fan of eliminating human interaction! :rotfl2: Do they have these kiosks in any other restaurants or just Pecos Bill's?

Last time we were at DLR (couple of years ago) they were using them at Taste Pilots Grill in Calif Adventure. Seemed to work well.

I always find it a bit sad to see "human interaction" eliminated. Like the auto checkout at grocery stores. It mainly means that some jobs have been eliminated.

They were at Captain Cook's in the Poly. I didn't know they were at Pecos Bill's.

We used them at Peco's Bills last June and I thought they were MUCH faster than standing in a regular line. We ate there several times and I would walk past the regular lines which had people lined up all the way to the Fixins bar and wlk straight up to one of the touch screens with no wait. I had my food within 5 minutes while everyone else was still standing there. Maybe it was before people had caught on to the machines, but I really enjoyed the whole aspect of it.

how does this work if your using the dining plan? do you order your food, then stand in a different line to pay/have credits taken from your KTTW card and after that collect your food?

You just swipe your card. We used it with a credit card, but can also be used with your KTTK card with or without the DP, you just can't use cash.

That's funny - we could not make the touch screens work at all at Pecos Bill's in December (and DH and I are avid iPhone users, so I think we can do the touch screen thing pretty well).

The screen never seemed to accept our touches or else there was such a long lag time for every action, it didn't seem to be working. We spent about 4-5 minutes messing with that before we got in the regular line!
